new video card issue

i just upgraded to a ati 6870 from a 5670, i did a driver sweeper, rebooted. installed the CCC 10.12. When i play ffxiv i am able to be ingame for about 1 minute and then the game crashes and gives me an error saying it was unable to detect the directX device. how would i go about fixing it?


side note: a quick message on the bottom right corner says the driver crashed and recovered.

Why did you run driver sweeper when you were using the same brand of card.

ran it after i had the problem to see if it would work, but it did not
