Can't get pass the login

I have resubbed for FFXIV and downloaded plus fully updated the game, yet I am unable to fully log in cause all it keep say is maintenance.
Also opened the ports and tried running the game as admin.

I would ask about this problem on the official forum but since I haven't had an active sub since january, I am not allowed to by the forum rules.

Any idea what could be wrong?

If you are on excalibur it seems to be having maintenance

The problem is I get pass where you put in account name and password but it doesn't move on to character select.

Check your IE settings. IIRC, the FFXIV login uses internet explorer so check internet options and check the privacy/security features as well as clear your cache. I had this problem a long time ago and changing internet settings worked.
