View Full Version : Help me name this anime!
Okay bare with me! I think the plot involved some form of object and a prophecy, and i recall something about people not caring an entire city was destroyed because it was foretold and the outcome of said prophecy was positive or something. I think i recall that its animation seemed similar to tales of the abyss and and it also somewhat reminded me of scrapped princess.
I hope those were enough hints. :/

This is really going to bother the shit out of me when I open up my job in 5 minutes. This sounds so familiar that it's driving me nuts.

Aquarion
Karas: The Prophecy
Heroic Age.
Dunno if its any of them, but hey, I tried.

Hm, Slayers Revolution had a similar story at least as a subplot, though it wasn't so much a prophecy as it was a sickness.
It's also similar to one of the plots in the Kino no Tabi/Kino's Journey anime that I can think of, though again not the entire plotline.
Escaflowne maybe - did have one of the lead character's city get destroyed early on, but it's sort of mecha as well.
Bounen no Xam'd, again, maybe - not exactly what you were saying, but with pieces of it.
Sounds like all of them to me.
Well i don't think the city getting destroyed was the plot. I recall seeing it on youtube and then checking the plot on wikipedia. It had mentioned, i suppose as something you see in an episode, that a city is destroyed but nobody cared that it was destroyed because its destruction was foretold, and apparently the future that was foretold was a nirvana or something so the destruction of the city was considered something that had to happen. If i'm not mistaken that was what i remember explained.

Nope, none of these were it. I check the wikipedia page to see if the plot detail explains that same part i remember.

is that a japanimation of the video games that charismatic loves so much?
Is the anime of Tales of the Abyss any good? I was really interested in the plot, but it does looks like the usual anime with guys with goofy hair and probably barth worthy personalities. In the mean time, i'm going to go dl scrapped princess.

I'm looking for this anime about a guy who is kinda like a shinigami or something, he has a big sword
I remember seeing it and going wow, it looks a lot like Bleach, but for the life of me I cannot think of the name. It's going to drive me batshit insane.

Tales of the Abyss was one of the best PS2/Tales games ever, I didn't watch the anime but I heard they followed the story pretty closely, and it's the same voice actors as the game obviously.

The ToA anime wasn't bad, really. If you've played the game, obviously you won't be seeing anything new, but it's kind of nice in the respect that if you wanted a refresher on the plot, you can just watch it all and turn off your brain instead of playing the game.

Describe some the girls in the show, like hair color, chest size and such i might remember it
I already figured out what it was. The problem was that the description i was talking about wasn't on the wikipedia page but on a different website, so when i had checked previous to see if tales of the abyss was that anime, i couldn't check if it was the same one since i didn't remember the site where i read the plot details.
This is where (http://anime.fansub.tv/series.php/1291/Tales_of_the_Abyss/) i read that description:
Finally, the Score and its promise of prosperity lead to a dangerous complacency within the general population of Auldrant; the slaughter of an entire people living on the island of Hod and the destruction of that landmass are countenanced because it was predicted in the Score.
But there wasn't a specific page in wikipedia for the anime... until i realized that the anime and the game have basically the same plot.
