Stock 2.1 to 2.2 Froyo Step By Step Instructions

Actual instructions are on post 13.

I never rooted my droid before and these instructions were super simple and very reversible.

ya if you know anything at all(or can follow what that post says) its worth it. 2.2 although still a tad unstable; works wonders for the droid. Also nice to finally have flash >.> even if it lags like a 1999 PC

Really there is almost no reason not to root your phone. its worth it in every way with 2.2

Well you really cant fuck it up during the root process/flashing recovery console... so up until then you're pretty good. You'd have to deviate from the path a lot to mess up the phone. Once it comes time to loading the ROM:

    - Make sure you make a Nandroid backup before you install the ROM.
    - After making the backup do a wipe - its important to do a wipe when jumping between different ROMs.
    - Install the ROM and give the phone about 5-10 minutes on its reboot process. The first boot into a new ROM is the longest. If it doesnt boot - Wipe and reinstall or just go back and restore your Nandroid backup from the recovery console.

It all seems hard and a daunting task at first... but once you do it its actually really easy. Not jailbreaking easy, but easy nonetheless.

I like Flash on it, reminds me of AOL.

    Spoiler: show

Backing it up is the best thing you can do. Droid Mod Root, perhaps the easiest way too root your phone and it's super stable.

There's no need to root your Droid. It just makes it cooler, and bitches love rooted phones.

    Thank you Adobe

Nice, but I think I'll wait for the OTA. Work pays for my phone/plan so I'd rather not risk anything.

That is one beefy rom, I can't wait until the Evo moves far enough along to get to that point.
