Backsolver worked perfectly xD
Backsolver worked perfectly xD
I was testing the Burst2 damage at about 122 INT vs 55-85 INT and it said the normal DMG was about 750-850.. is Burst2 really that low?
The BG-wiki version totals all the MB bonus and then applies it in the same term, the other version applies them individually as their own terms.
@Ryuushin, the base damage is that low, but remember with all your other bonuses you are more than doubling it.
this is actually pretty cool the way we're bouncing back and forth ideas and having them implemented. wish most product development were this simple and efficient!
Think you could add helix helix dmg as well on there? Otherwise thanks for the very useful tool =D
Oh ok, i know what you mean. Then i have a question, BG says :
+0.03 when a level 2 Ancient Magic II spell is used in a magic burst.
+0.06 when a level 3 Ancient Magic II spell is used in a magic burst.
So, lvl 1 AM is +0% ? And what about lvl 4 and 5 ? Keep +9% and +12% ?
Correct for upgrade 1. Upgrades 4 and 5 are almost certainly as you said, based on the description in the merit points menu, it's just not actually been verified for those.
You've misread the BGwiki. Helix initial damage varies (and then once landed is constant DOT) just like nukes and is dependent on MAB, INT, day/weather, and skill/accuracy to land.
It's been a while and I haven't found a page with solid info for each Helix, I have SCH75 should take it for a spin...
Oh is like Bio ?
If i find more info about helix spells, i could add them.
The trouble with helix spells is the formula currently accepted appears to be flawed. I think Helix follows the basic tier 1 formula but has a base damage in the calculation of 3. Also Helix treats weather and as best I can figure day bonuses as if you have a built in obi. I have an Excel file I have been using to test this but it lacked the backsolver to find the targets int leading to alot of guesswork to figure that out.
Confirmed, helix initial damage and thus all subsequent ticks is calculated using the same magic damage forumula as a tier 1 with a base dmg of 46, using your backsolver I was finally able to get a bead on the int of the lvl 0 worms I was using for my tests.
On the backsolver, it might be easier to have the option for Job Traits selection, i for one have no idea how much MAB i get from Job Traits alone at 75 BLM D:
Maybe it's just me...

That help? Think it was the same formula for Aero 1
It holds true on repeated tests, the value is 46 as the base damage of all helix spells. treated as a tier 1 spell the formula produced correct predications of damage +/- 1 dmg (rounding in SE's programming can account for this)
and no, not aero 1, the value would be equivilent to blizzard 1
Thanks to you two, so I will add helix spells.
ALL helix have the same base of 46 dmg ?
correct, also Helix spells calculate day and weather bonuses at 100% at all times regardless of equipment. Weather spells do stack with natural weather and day but not beyond the natural cap of 20 for double weather and 10 for day. Also of note is this effect can work against you as weather and day of the opposing element will negatively impact your helix damage even with weather of the supporting element active in the spell form.
very unique in that sense, its like having all 8 obi's on 24/7
I wish I could send you my excel sheet >.< I need to get setup with a flie storage site or something, here is an img of the sheet I use, you can't see the forumas but you can see the variables I include. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...agicdamage.jpg
MDB added to backsolver
Job trait table added to backsolver
For helix spells : I think i'm good with the formula who posted Meian
EDIT : Does the dot damage is affected by something ?
EDIT : Helix added
