My Aion account got hacked for the first time 2 months after i quit. I fought to get it back, tried to get them to delete my account but i settled on making them permaban my account. It has since been hacked server side at least 2 more times, last email i received saying i was banned was in german.

If you enjoy paying a bunch of retarded thieves, Aion is for you.

and don't even get me started on the gameplay. To keep it short, they tried to copy WoW and failed.

I love the game. Does it have it's problems? Absolutely. Some aspects of PvP balance, lack of content etc are issues within the game, but NCSoft are, at the very least, TRYING to address them.
There is a FREE expansion being released this autumn, called 'Assault on Balurea' which will add a lot of new content.
Just last week, a large patch was implemented that had a pop at addressing a class balance issue (jury's out on whether or not it was a good thing). It also added quite a lot of other things, but if you're not familiar with the game, it would be pointless for me to list them.

Being objective, I would say that yes, NCSoft are slow at releasing new content. However, fundementally I enjoy the game, and something tells me (no, not just the 'vision' trailer) that Aion has not found it's stride yet. I honestly believe there are very good things to come.

I totally understand people's frustration with the game but would agree with people saying 'play casually'. It's not got the depth yet to play too hardcore.

the game is good but the drop rate sucks

you think salvage 35 is bad? try aion

but pvp wise, its all about zerg, Theres no such thing as fair fight in aion. People will get a zerg coming if you butthurt them.....fortress is all dependent on how your faction fair, usually its the elyos that dominate because they are the easy mode in aion(play and you'll know) and they look pretty. hence, everyone roll an elyos.....

Grindy yes, but thats part of almost all mmo. Aion just loks mroe grindy because of the drop rate actually. And PVP gear is the end game gear eventually, so you'll find yourself actually grinding for AP in the end instead of instances(except for DP since it also gives AP and gold gears before you get PVP sets, but still, like i said, droprate is bad)

i have played for 8 months and i have yet to see a gold weapon that is usable by my class that i can even press "cast lots" on. Thats how the drop rate is.

drop rate is pretty bad but pvp is not really all about zerg. sure if you do fort raids everytime then yea it would seem like it but how else would they do it? you want everyone to 1v1 when it's massive pvp? try rifting the pvp there is awesome. also try leveling a cleric to combat 5-10 people chasing you in morheim/eltnen

Pretty sure he's laughing at the "wow clone" comment, which is pretty lolworthy tbh.

Hmm I thought I hit my BG bookmark, not QQsource..
Also vrumpt, a lot of ppl get "hacked" when they quit/take a break. It's happened to way too many ppl for it to be a coincidence. Something's fishy with NC imo.

On topic, the game is "ok." It was fun at start when everything was new and shiny, and there were A LOT of ppl. Now, I hate how hollow and dead my server is, hate how laughable the pve is (compared to FFXI), and how lacking the pvp is.

Gotta say, even while rifting, the pvp isn't so great. Most of the time morheim was empty or filled with level 50s fucking up the twinks. It's also very easy to run away/die without ap penalty so pvp never really is fair game. Aion was fun, mostly because of the fun legion I was in, but I definitely wouldn't have lasted this long without them. Don't go in there expecting a wtfawesome game, but rather something to pass time on for a while.

Aion is what you make of it. Especially in end game. 90% of people think there is no end game because they saw some kid post on aionsource that it didn't exist, and all the wow kids follow suit and make 200 posts about it. If you look at the upcoming content for 2.0, the game is gonna be great. As far as grinding goes, everyone has it easy mode now, since the double exp weekends seem to happen every other weekend. I hit 50 before there was ever one.

What part of end game are you referring to?

-Flying around for 2 hours to only find 2 people to PVP that end up force logging to avoid deaths?
-Players hiding in instances and only entering the Abyss for Dredgion/Forts?
-Getting trained constantly in said Dredgion?
-100 DP's and only 2 golds to show for it?
-The stupid RNG money sinks that promote RMT?
-Crafting being pointless other than cooking and alchemy?
-Level 50's camping rifts to kill twinks instead of going to the Abyss?

I had no issue with the grind at all as i hit 50 well before Christmas. As you said, i made my own fun and spent most of my time in the core looking for PVP. Sadly i can't PVP myself.

    You should've stayed. 35 expert orange, 35 expert blue, another potential 35 expert blue/orange potential (HQ2). ;;

    qft

    this is aion right there

dont get me wrong, i dont hate the game. I still play it everyday but what alderann said is totally spot on.

I like 1.9 dred but at the same time, i hate how fail the surkana system is. There shouldnt be any surkana to begin with. It should be "Kill boss and get points" and not hit a got damn ninja/trainable surkana

1.9 is HARDER to train but at the same time if you can do it, it totally fucks up the opposition team.........

i swear to god, captains of every room pulls my team in now even if our team didnt hit them or touch the surk at all lol

See that was the last straw that made me quit when you said nothing proced. I would've stayed another month but seeing as i was broke and with no goal attainable in the near future, I just quit. Should've told me earlier that it proced. Jokes fuck shit up sometime

No no, Casey will verify. I had one blue, told you that. You quit and at the time I couldn't afford to process the rest (I told you this!) I made the orange the next day. The major flux cost alone kept me from finishing the T2 upgrades. :\ Wasn't pulling your leg or anything.

The support for this game is horrible. They basically screwed Assassins completely w/ the stun counters which weren't necessary. The only kind of Sins who could pull off a 100-0 kill in 3-4 seconds, were the top tier ones. So a bunch of nubs QQ'd and NCSoft buckled.

All in all, I don't see how things will get better. 2 factions is pretty fail. Too much pressure on people to work together. Since the game can't decide what it wants to be - you end up w/ a ton of carebears who don't pvp. They come out to forts and get rolled, rightly so.

Hopefully w/ transfers, people who pvp can go to a server that pvps. I enjoyed things as they were before the stun counter (which helps me btw). My main gripe has been forts. You have to play Aion like a job on a shitty server like Kaisinel, if your faction is doing badly.

I feel like the game will get a lot better in 2.0 though but it's so far away (in MMO time) and by then, you'll have a lot of new MMOs on the horizen.

Ultimately, I'd wait for something else. I play every now and then when I'm super bored, these days.
