just finished watching the animated series. 61 episodes in 4 days...
    Spoiler: show

Was pretty good overall, but I occasionally found myself skipping over a few episodes I found boring and didn't have too much importance.
The blind jokes in season2 were great, but by the 3rd season they had gotten not so funny.
I was hoping for some more moments like when Aang was with the Face-eater, but I was disappointing in that regard.
And was also disappointed in how the Azula/Zuko fight turned out. Not so much that Zuko didn't end it on his own, because I thought it was very apparent Zuko would have won, but with the fact that Azula was built up into such an irredeemable character and she wasn't killed in the end. (I know, kids show.)

Very tempted to torrent a copy of the movie just to see how extremely bad it is.

Don't feel bad. There's certain episodes (The Great Divide comes to mind) that were just boring and awful. Then there's others that sorda redeem it.

The blind jokes in S2 (like when they were in the desert) were just awesome. Was Season 2 your favorite? That was mine due to just how much happened. The whole "Ba Sing Se" plot was great. I'd go S2>3>1.. though I was a fan of the Katara/Aang angle, so eh. Was nice to see their happy end at the end of the finale.

As far as Azula.. while I think she was irredeemable, I personally think something positive could come out of tossing her into the nuthouse. Who knows. There needs to be some more stuff on Zuko's mom.

Certain things he changed for no reason, or dumbassed reason.
Example: He made the imprisoned earthbenders seem like fucking retards. In the Movie they were imprisoned in a camp on land (WHICH IS FUCKING EARTH M NIGHT SHITYALAN!) all it took was a little faggot ass pep talk to get them motivated.... On the Show, Fire Nation was smart enough to imprison them on a metal ship/offshort rig, where they couldn't bend.

I know he cut a lot of stuff short to fit into the movie, but if your gona fuck up details like that, why even bother putting it in the movie.

yeah, liked season two the best. Season 1 was mostly just on the road, traveling from place to place, righting random wrongs while characters were being set up. Felt extremely episodic to me that didn't spend a lot of time dealing with the main story, and I'm not a big fan of that kind of thing.
Season2 was mostly dealing with the important plot points and moved the story forward a lot.
Season3 seemed to go back to random town traveling that was only connected to the main story by one specific scene in the episode, but by then the characters had more depth and everything meant more.

another thing that annoyed me... during the Black Sun episodes, all the adult people were willing to sacrifice themselves during the solar eclipse/fire nation assault, for a cause that they weren't sure was 100% chance of succeeding. They didn't even know if the fire lord was even in there anymore and they continued on, and let themselves get captured to save the main group. Yet in season three, when a direct attack on the fire nation/fire lord occurred, and the outcome would determine everything, they were nowhere to be seen. Only after the fact did they show up.

Yeah, S3 was mostly more traveling/getting set-up for the big final fight.

As far as the Black Sun episodes.. well they honestly didn't know how things would go. You've gotta think that if Sokka and the others figured out they'd lose their firebending, most of the head honchos in the Fire Nation would know that as well. They just didn't plan ahead of that, obviously so things went downhill.

With the final battle that Aang and the Gaang experienced, well I guess that's where the writers decided the main characters would get all the spotlight. Personally, I wish Aang would have taken Katara with him, but I can see how that'd be a huge distraction anyway.

Pretty sure all the water tribe guys, Zuko, Sokka and Suki escaped from Boiling Rock. Yes?

Wrong, only the "leaders" get sent to the boiling rock. Suki is the leader of the kioshi warriors and Hakota took the fall as leader of the eclipse invasion.

The swamp guys, earth bending wrestlers, hiru dad and his men, and the water tribe warrirors are all locked up in work camps.

The only people who escaped were Suki, Hakoda, and the random prisoner (forgot his name). Everyone else who was captured during the black sun remained so until the Fire Lord and Azula were defeated.

I was more talking about those people escaped after the boiling rock episode, when Azula attacked again at the air temple.

Was huge fan of the series, furiously waited for this movie for like last year or so, but started seeing trailers and started to worry.

It sorta blows that this series is going to end with 60 episodes of an awesome cartoon, and 1 bad, bad movie, I can't see them making a sequel. I haven't seen it yet mind you, but well...

Maybe the creators will tie up the loose ends somehow, someway, can hope :/

    I really was upset when Iroh wasn't cast as a fat fuck, he was my favourite character ever ;;

Jonah Hex might be slightly better than Airbender? Though doing that would be supporting Megan Fox, so it's a lose-lose
