Don't know if anyone else noticed, but Amazon's CE now states that it's 8 days early access, rather than the 6 it was yesterday. At least I'm pretty sure it said 6 yesterday...

I tried at my local Gamestop but apparently they didn't have Collectors Edition.

I'm going to check out other stores tomorrow -- I'm not buying this thing online. I wasted money on release day shipping for Mass Effect 2 -- not doing that ever again.

Never had problems before..even with 2-3 day delivery, it comes next day generally since I'm right next to distribution centers heh.

Because my nearest game store is over an hour away and I'm not wasting the gas money/time to drive an hour to and from to get a game when I can have it delivered to my doorstop for considerably less amount of money.

I did too, but my GS receipt just says Final Fantasy XIV, not CE (even asked her if she was sure to hold the CE PC version). That's normal yeah?
First time pre-ordering from GS (I feel so dirty), and I sure as hell don't wanna fuck anything up

This got on my nerves -- I was asking about CE at my local GameStop and the clerk flat out tells me "There's no Collector's Edition available from Square Enix"

I'm not too fond of these 30-something douchebags working in a place they barely know or even care about.

Hey, guess what. Gamestop has delivery problems too! A pre-order I did on a game a few years back (forget what it was now), wasn't there on launch day. Their order had been lost by UPS or some shit and I didn't get my copy of the game for another 2 days.

You're at risk either way. Gamestop may be more likely to have it as they probably get their shipment a few days early, but it's not always guaranteed. At the same time, I've seen numerous people report getting games early when they pre-order through Amazon or other online retailers because they ship really quickly.

Just preorder the collector's edition at my local gamestop. Would kinda like to have got it from amazon, but amazon uses *ups and it wouldnt arrive till 8pm... if it arrived.

Hopefully we'll get some info as to whether gamestop is going to do midnight launches for this.

*ups delivers around 10am to my work, but i dont plan on being at work that day

Maybe has been answered but I've never pre-ordered anything. When you go to pre-order the CE version do you have to pay right then and there? Or will it come out of your checking the day it ships?

Doubt it matters. I don't think the retailers are the one giving out the codes, so it SHOULD just be in the packaging when you pick up the copy. But idfk, it does say "at participating retailers" on the official site..
