with the 20% buff, our armor pen warrior was hitting 10k or real close to it.

See, despite big numbers, this is actually bad. A 20% buff bringing you to 10k means you're just a hair over 8k to begin with, which is where you should have been in ToC/GC, iirc.

We had mages and rogues routinely hitting 10k without a buff in the early wings.

Again, I don't know the exact numbers. I don't care to watch recount or the DPS meters etc. I just know that normally our warrior is on top of the list when the DPS is reported. I heal on my shaman so all I care about is that the health bars are moving to the right faster than they are moving to the left.

At the end of the day, the meters matter as much as the gear on the character. These guys that top these world lists with X DPS or whatever have the best gear (more times than not).

All 3 paladin specs are OP, the worst part is the complete lack of skill required to succeed. Plate armor combined with too many personal and team defensive cooldowns, stun that requires no set-up, infinite mana for all 3 specs. Holy stays max range spamming flash of light, ret/prot spam their insane damage instant attacks. I have 31K health with fortitude and 1300 resil and a dps paladin can almost kill me 1v1 in a stun. I pop pain suppression and he pops wings that cause his damage to bypass damage reduction abilities. "You're a priest, just mana burn him!" Yeah, good luck getting a single burn off on a paladin that doesn't have downs. Okay guess I'll try out shadow JK cleanse spam sacred cleansing proc oh look I'm OOM GG.

4% in 2's and 2% in 5's (no team in top 5 comps for 3's) sure doesn't sound OP for protribution.

PvP Rets in S5 and maybe S6 too were OP. Holy paladins are OP at single-target heals. But that's hardly enough to make them king of the expansion.

I've always found it odd that people say Paladins are OP in PvP. Even when Paladin was what most people called "extremely overpowered" at the release of WoTLK, no Paladin team has ever done well in the MLG or ESL 3v3s.
Lately there have been a FEW Beastcleave and I think one Paladin/Warrior/Warlock(?) that managed to get maybe halfway through the competition before being facerolled by any competent RMP or RLS.
They are rated pretty high on SK Top-100 because of Paladin+warrior is ridiculously strong (double legendaries dawg) and beastcleave works on live servers, but that doesn't mean they are overpowered by any means. Also worth mentioning their ranking on SK 100 is based wholly on Holy paladins, Ret and Prot paladins combined have less of a representation than the worst class, which is DK.

It was a 2page pile of shit from a thread where real things were/are/get discussed so tonko came in and said if you want to talk about paladin OPness make your own thread and then either he or someone else scooped up the entire pile and tossed it into it's own.
