So basically you're okay with most jobs exping naked until level 60(or 70 depending on the job).

Edit: And what is with acting like it costs a fortune to gear low level jobs? Shit is cheap to me and I'm poor.

For some people, it's more inventory space, perhaps. I won't say that some gear doesn't help you, but getting a piece with +1 dex is hardly worth the effort/inventory space. And gil is a kinda "meh" excuse anyway, seeing as you can sell it back later...

Also, note that Okotes give you more attack than an entire set of gear that doesn't include Okotes. 2 snipers are more accuracy than all the rest of your gear combined, etc. There's a few pieces that are worth getting, sadly they are usually the expensive ones.

I will usually only use things I already have. Rajas, Sniper+1, Swift Belt, etc. unless I really care about the job (PUP<3)

Eh. Trying to help people is one thing, but you just overwhelm them when you say "get all this gear you don't currently have." End result is they don't get much or any of it, and remember you as an overbearing jerk. It's pretty hard to effect much of a change in someone without spending a good deal of time with them—I've done it for some lacklustre DDs in my shell, though I had to supply some parses to prove I was as good as I claim (but after that they started listening to/trusting everything I said), and even then they usually don't have the time, gil, or inclination to get it as fast as you would yourself.

Personally, when I can get random people to listen to my advice, I just pick one or two of the biggest things they could work on, and tell them to get something within their capacity (in the case of someone like that PLD, I'd tell them to get the Haub and ignore suggesting Dusk etc because I get the feeling 100k is more than he usually has at any given time). Suggesting a PCC is just silly, because there's no way he's going to be able to get it.

tl;dr It takes more than one push to ungimp someone, and you've gotta take it slowly with some people.

Them being retarded's not an excuse if you really want them to improve. You just have to lighten your approach and deal with them much more patiently. If I can get through to someone who asks me what Byakko's Haidate drops from, someone could get through to that PLD.

Easier to ignore them, I admit, but being a know-it-all is only good coming off as "I'm better than you and I'm letting you know it." Which I admit I do to some people just because they piss me off, but you don't see me posting my "you're a gimp for wearing those Jets, did a pair of Mahatma Slops bite you in the ass as a child?" conversations on here because I know I'm just being antagonistic for the sake of being antagonistic.
