Custom Template Discussion (Wowhead Links -- R - WH skin only)

The wow section of the forums has remained very well organized and mature for the most part, of this the admin staff thanks you very much. Weve seen a few recruitment threads as well and was wondering if the wow mini-community we have here would be interested in a guild recruitment/looking for guild section. An area where like minded BG forum goers and former FFXI players can look for a new home with people with similar raiding focus. (as I hear, FFXI wow raiders > regular wow raiders).

So let me know, we can carefully expand the section and give a little joy.

Would be interesting to see and yeah.. ffxi raiders definantly "only played wow" raiders. For the most part anyway.

Most I know can survive doing stuff for over 4 hours, where as most wow are exhausted after 3-4 ;/

One thing that would be nice to have is the Wowhead widget installed so we can directly link items we're talking about.

I don't really have an opinion on the recruitment section as this site is primarily US based and thus wouldn't affect me, so apologies for the minor derail.

Tooltips would be awesome.

I guess a recruitment area would be kinda nice, both for guilds looking for people and people looking for guilds...perhaps one or more of the groups that visit here may have a fit for loners who are searching for a place to be (assuming they don't mind potential server transfers, of course).

I'm indifferent, but wouldn't really be bothered by seeing one. I'm not the one who has to add it in/moderate it 8)

Hehe it will be filled with 'Any guilds recruiting hunters?' and 'Any guilds recruiting melee dps?' 'Oshi you play alliance?' threads. Are even more than 5-6 guilds represented in the WoW section, anyway?

I also agree on the Tooltip notion, that would be pretty slick. Also recruitment would be nice since I will need a raiding guild in the near future!

I also echo the want for the tooltips- they're spiffy and I think they'd be used well around here.

I'd be down for a recruitment section, but that's partly because I just got tapped to help the officers recruit some warm bodies so we can do 25-man stuff again. :X

The WoW section here isn't really popular enough for it to be worthwhile, you'd end up with a dead forum with just a small handful of threads. Plus there's only like 5 active topics in the WoW section at a time anyway, so the couple recruitment threads that are here aren't really clogging up anything.

Is there any harm allowing it on all skins ? It's if they have FF / noscript they can disable it.

I don't think a recruitment forum is needed, there have only been like... 2 threads for it.

Although if people are going to post them once in a while, they should change the format to what most recruitment forums use:

requires a manual edit of the skin template, so itll be easier if its just one skin that gets adjusted.

Yeah gotta agree recruitment would probably be wasted space for you right now. While i'd love for BG to be the 'go to' place for wow players like it is for ffxi players, there's just not enough of us.

I'm with waffles on this one. I have a really old and shitty CRT monitor I use for surfing the interbutts and the entire picture grows then shrinks while wobbling if there's to much white on the screen lawls.

But may I ask that we make the wow section automatically change to that skin (if that wasn't planned already) in case some people use a different one by default elsewhere >_>

I express my support for '-- R' since nobody else will. It's the skin I've browsed BG with since the switch to vBulletin.
