Default Instances Help?

Since I can`t find a comprehensive list of instances and pertinent info about them (asked in random question thread too) I decided to make one. A problem with this though, is that I`m only 41 and haven`t done any of the new instances I`ve gained access too since then. (Well ok, one alquimia run.) If anyone doesn`t mind, could you guys help me fill it out a bit?

http://sorcewren.wordpress.com/2009/12/02/instances/

I`m also a little confused about faction availability. Are all these available to both races? Only some?

Anyway, if you want to help me out and contribute, you can post here or in comment on the post or pm me. If you include elyos or asmo specific information, make sure you indicate it. The levels listed for attunement quests are the minimum level requirement, not the level of the quest.

Thanks in advance!

(And try to be nice >< I can take constructive criticism pretty well, but BG still has a stigma of being pounce-on-the-noob-and-flame-it to me that makes me wary to even post this)

Elyos:
Fire Temple (level 30)
Draupnir Cave (Level ?)
Aethergenics Lab (Level 40)
Steel Rake (Level 40) (Both Factions)
Theobomos Lab (Level ~47)
Dark Poeta (Level 50) (Both Factions)

All Abyss Forts have an instance as well: lower tier are ~30-45, upper are 40+. No idea about Draupnir as I've never been there lol.

To have a decent time in Draupnir, you are gonna want to be 46+

To do a speed run you want to be 48+

There are some Fortress Tree instances too. I saw em when I typed /checkentry.

Never done those two either since I never see a group for em.

Most instances located in Elysea/Asmodae are available to the other faction through a spy quest. Exceptions being Adma Fort and Theobomos Laboratory.

"Sulfur Tree Nest" is the name of the Sulfur fort's instance.

If you hit menu, there is an "instance info" option now. Hit that and it'll tell you what instances you can run, and what level and if your party members are eligible too. Then its up to BG to help with attunement, locations, etc.

Also, /checkentry

Edit: failed to see GJ's post ;; I think the entry info for the lower fort instances says 33 minimum, but I might be wrong.

Think it was at 30. I remember looking at it and wondering what that place was like. But I mainly see higher ups goin for it.

It is 30+, I first went in at 30 :X

Looking more for notes on the specific instances, and the names of the attunement quests/campaigns to get into the instances for both asmo and elyos.

(You don`t have to attune to get into the fort instances)

If you don't do the Fortress Instances you are missing out on free AP.

Sulfur Next/Western Siel/Eastern Siel are pretty easy for free and sometimes large amounts of AP.

Sulfur Nest, I wouldn't worry about the large chest in the middle, take out all the mobs in the outer circle first and have some one lag behind and open the smaller chests.

Western Siel, you have 6 paths so each person in the party can open up their own chest.

Eastern Siel, to be honest I haven't done yet. Will post more about it later.

The chests generally drop Kinah but have a chance to drop Silver/Gold Medals and items that can be turned in anywhere from 300-2100 AP. Also, some drop a quest item that can get you more free AP as well.

Wasted 3 levels missing out on fort instances. People don't shout for them much.

I can think of one fort instance run I did that wasn't a complete waste of time. Siel's West is the absolute worst, it's always something like 4 people get nothing, 1 person gets a lame AP item, and 1 person gets a pinata with like 3.5k AP, a quest item, and a blue armor they can't wear.

Also, some of the upper instances are bugged. Asteria and Miren, I think.

On aionarmory there are maps and comments for each of the lower fort instances that pretty much explain the whole deal.

I`ve run the lower abyss fort instances enough to fill those out on my own, again what I really would like help on filling out is information about the instances that are level 40+. Draupnir, SR, Indratu, Dark Poeta, Dredgion. I`ve never even heard anyone in legion mention Indratu and they run the others (well, DP/dredgion) all the time, is that one elyos only? What is this "A rift connected to Indratu Fortress has appeared" message I get when I zone into Beluslan?

indratu is heiron's version of draupnir. elyos can enter draupnir and asmos can enter indratu, but the loot in indratu is so shitty that both races just run draupnir.

Haven't done the Steel Rake attunement quest yet but I checked and it said the NPC was Graa I think at Heiron for Elyos? I haven't felt like doing it but my legion keeps bugging me about it since I hit 40 lol.

Where is the turn in for the Ancient Seals you get from lower instances? I assume they are right outside but I haven't seen a quest for them and haven't checked since I got a couple drops from there.

Assuming it's the same for both races, there should be a group of 4 NPCs near the eltnen portal device in Teminon Fortress that take those items.

The map for Left Wing Chamber is wrong about the boss. Both times I've run the instance, the boss was up before any of the doors were opened; and both times it was on opposite sides, so it has more than one spawn location.

Your list seems to be coming from the point of view of an Asmodian, thats fine, but if you want to make a resource like this, you may want to share with both sides.

Elyos --

Fire Temple:
Minimum Level: 30+
Suggested Level: 30+
Attunement: Requires a rare drop of a key from the monsters inside and around outside of Kyola Temple in Eltnen. It is said that the ghosts outside of the temple at night have the highest drop rate. You receive a quest from the key and it can only be obtained at level 30 or above.

There are a good number of bosses in Fire Temple that many people do not see because of most groups insistence on doing "speed runs". However, there are several rare spawn bosses that can also drop very nice Gold level weapons with different stat allocations than the Kromede's weapons. If you take the time to look for these bosses they can be quite rewarding.

Draupnir Cave:
Minimum Level: 43+
Suggested Level: 45+
Attunement: Complete [Spy/Group]Meeting a Mau Spy and its follow ups. Quest given at the Kishar base camp in Heiron.

Like the fellow BG person said, Draupnir at 43 is really pushing it. The instance already is a fairly long one. If you push it at 43 you will more than likely not be able to complete the entire instance and it will be exceedingly long.

There is now an easy Abyss Gate entrance to this instance that can be found at certain times of day in the Indratu area of Heiron.

Alquimia Research Center:
Attunement: Complete the key portion of the Xenophon weapon questline.

Every Elyos has to delve into this hole of an instance at least once to complete their Xeno weapon. Most thank god that we were blessed with Aether Labs instead of this crapfest. You MAY return anytime after you have completed your Xeno quest to help other hapless souls.

Aetherogenetics Lab:
Minimum Level: 35+
Suggested Level: 40+
Attunement: Complete Heiron Missions up to Creating a Monster.

Elyos's much easier, laid back version of the Research Center. An easy instance.

Steel Rake:
Minimum Level: 40+
Suggested Level: Mid 40 Lower: 43-44 Upper: Koakoa/43-44 Grogget 46-50
Attunement: Find a talk to the Suspicious Shugo and be teleported into the Steel Rake. Once you escape you may enter the instance at any time.

Middle Steel Rake (or Hairpin SR): Is Level 41-43 and can now be completed quite quickly in under 2hours by the average group. However, most runs through this portion of the instance will take much much longer as most of your party members will be looking to turn in as many Hairpin quests as they possibly can. If you fully clear every Hairpin dropping enemy you can get roughly 4.5 turnins a run. Meaning it will take you 7 full runs to complete the turnsins required to obtain the Steel Rake Gold helm. You can also do the Snow Blessing repeatable quest. However, this quest requires 30 full runs of the instance and is widely held to not be worth it unless you are actively trying to complete the Steel Rake gold armor set.

Lower Steel Rake: Level 44-45 Enemies. This portion of the instance can be completed in about 90 minutes. The final boss requires some easy strategy compared to other instance bosses seen in the game up until this point. There are several repeatables quests here. The Pouch repeatable can be completed 2 times a run with some left over. Making this quest completable in about 15 runs. However, most groups will not be willing to kill the required extra Krall Prison Guards for this quest. So if you plan on obtaining the gold gloves, you will be looking at some work.

Upper Steel Rake: Level 44-46 Enemies. Since the recent nerf this portion of the instance has been made much faster. Able to complete all bosses with an upper level group in less than 90minutes. If your group is uncapable of defeating the Captain, then you are looking at 45-60 minutes to kill the Gunner. Perhaps one of the easiest Hero bosses in all of Aion, you can probably 3 man this boss as much of his damage is PBAOE and bomb based. Said encounter does not even need a proper tank.

Indratu Fortress: Level 47 Enemies
Minimum Level: 41+
Suggested Level: 45+
Attunement: Complete Heiron Mission Indratu Legion.

Perhaps the worst instance in the game for Elyos. When you complete Indratu Legion if you speak to Perento he WILL teleport you to the instance portal. However he will only do this a single time. If you wish to go back to this instance you will be forced to fight your way through the Nute Warren tunnels. The Nute Warrens monsters are higher level than the instance itself and is not easily passable. The instance portal is further guarded by a level 48 Legendary Boss.

It is now possible to get to this instance via an Instance portal in Beluslan near the Draupnir Cave entrance. So rifting to Beluslan and then using their portal (if its up) is the easiest way to revisit the instance after you enter it a first time.

Oh wow Niwaar, that`s great! Thanks a ton! And yeah it is from asmo view, but I wouldn`t mind including the elyos attunements/locations either. Thanks a whole lot though, i`ll get on editing it today.

I don't think I am understanding this correctly, I'm not familiar with rifting. Are you saying you need to wait on a rift portal to Beluslan to be up, then have another portal up in the right spot at the right time? What are the chances of that?

Not that bad. Contrary to popular belief, Heiron/Beluslan are not limited to one open rift at a time.
