    BlizzCon2010

So I went to blizzcon last year, amazing event, loved ozzy, loved diablo 3, loved starcraft 2, even the cataclysm stuff was neat. Regardless Im looking to go again this year and looking to gauge interest of like minded forum friends to see if I can pull it off without spending all of my money on tickets, airfare, rental car, and hotel.

    Toasting in an epic bread.

    mod edit:
BLIZZCON® 2010 TICKETS ON SALE JUNE 2 AND JUNE 5
Exclusive coverage of Blizzard Entertainment's gaming convention available through DIRECTV® satellite TV service and enhanced multi-channel Internet stream

IRVINE, Calif. – May 18, 2010 – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that tickets for its fifth BlizzCon® gaming convention will go on sale in two batches on Wednesday, June 2 and Saturday, June 5, 2010. BlizzCon is a celebration of the global player communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft®, Diablo®, and StarCraft® game universes. The event will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on October 22 and 23. Live coverage of the event will be available as a DIRECTV® Pay Per View package and as a multi-channel Internet stream, allowing viewers online to switch between coverage of multiple panels and activities during the show.

"BlizzCon is a unique opportunity for our players to meet one another, strengthen the friendships they've formed online, and have a great time celebrating a shared passion for gaming together with Blizzard employees," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "For those who can't attend, we're pleased to be providing an unprecedented level of access to the activities and attractions that BlizzCon has to offer."

In addition to serving as a gathering place for the different Blizzard Entertainment gaming communities, BlizzCon will have an array of activities, including discussion panels, competitive and casual tournaments, contests, hands-on playtime with current and upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games, and more.

Tickets to the convention will be priced at $150 USD each and will be available for purchase from the official BlizzCon website at www.blizzcon.com. Tickets will be released in two separate batches on June 2 at 7 p.m. Pacific time and on June 5 at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Those interested in attending BlizzCon can simplify the purchase process by registering a Battle.net account at www.battle.net before ticket sales begin.

The popular DIRECTV® BlizzCon Pay Per View event will return in 2010, available to existing DIRECTV customers in the United States for $39.95 USD. The event will again deliver comprehensive live HD coverage from the show floor on each day of the convention, including exclusive interviews, demos, and more.

Gamers around the world will also have the option to purchase the Pay Per View event as a multi-channel Internet stream, also priced at $39.95 USD (pricing may vary by region). For the first time, anyone who purchases the Internet stream will be able to switch freely between multiple channels of coverage dedicated to different areas of BlizzCon, allowing online viewers expanded access to the panels and events they're most interested in. DIRECTV customers who order the televised event will receive this Internet stream at no extra charge, allowing them to watch in the format of their choice. Those who order the event will also receive this year's BlizzCon-exclusive World of Warcraft® in-game item (availability may vary by region), to be revealed at a later date. Limited streaming coverage of the BlizzCon opening ceremony and certain BlizzCon tournaments will be available via the Internet for free.

As BlizzCon draws closer, further details about the show, including ordering and programming information for the DIRECTV BlizzCon Pay Per View event and multi-channel Internet stream, will be announced at www.blizzcon.com.

To keep pace with the continued growth of World of Warcraft as well as development on other Blizzard Entertainment games, the company is currently hiring for numerous open positions. More information on available career opportunities can be found at www.blizzard.com/jobs.

Last year's bag of treats had items people were selling on ebay for about 500$. So you can definitely make your money back if you want to.

Did they fix vendor booths taking 3-4 hours to get through last year? If not I'm probably just gonna get the simulcast.

when do tickets go on sale? My folks live in LA so i should try to make some effort to go this year since my only expense would be the ticket and food while there.

    edit: Thanks Vandole.

Me and my Fiancee will be there again this year. IRON in WoW has a lot of the members go every year as well, regardless if everyone gets tickets or not. Last year I think 25-30 of us crashed Dave and Busters for our get together dinner. Was a lot of fun.

I'll probably go again if i can get tickets. For anyone on the fence, remember, goodie bag items and even tickets themselves (you can buy up to 5 with a single credit card and judging on past demand, if you have the opportunity to do so, jump on it) sell for exorbitant amounts that more than make up the cost. 2008's goodie bag had a SC2 beta key (before they got common) and the WoW polar bear mount that is STILL selling for over or around the ticket price of that year.

It's called the release date of the Diablo 3 Beta

I don't see why they would release a new MMO it would just cripple WoW

They've got the up-coming release of Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty, Diablo 3 in the works, and they also have TWO Starcraft 2 Expansions in development as well, I'd say they have a lot on their plate already, I would not be surprised tho if they announce a future expansion that takes the Starcraft 2 world to another level and introducing the Xel'naga finally, I have a very strong feeling that they will do this, if it follows the SC lore, which they displayed cut scenes has proven it does, its inevitable that they give wake to the dormant race.

Plus on top of the two(four) new titles in production as of right now, they also have the new WoW expansion to give a ton of information about as well as a possible release date(probably this winter before holidays) It would literally shock me if they announced a new MMO with all this on their plate already, you can only stretch your development team so much, and you can only hire so many people.

either way due to work I won't be able to attend this year, boo.

Oh man you are so in for a surprise. They have been pretty public in interviews about having multiple unannounced projects they are and have been working on (not talking about SC2+expansions, D3, or WoW expansions) of which they explicitly have stated one is an MMO. I think they've revealed that it would be a new IP as well, but I could be wrong on that. Either way, even if they don't reveal it this Blizzcon, it's already on their plate and has been for awhile.

I would love to go to this, but I would definitely need to find someone to crash with hotel wise. It's just too expensive on your own.

The dates suck balls. Oct 22-23rd? Senior design says that's a no-go.
