    True Blood Season 3

Who's ready for this!? Season 3 premier is next Sunday. Looks like from the couple of sneak peek/trailers we get werewolves this year! I'm sure it will be as good as last season. Both seasons have been very good, and I doubt this year will be any different.

    SOOKIE!

True Blood is weird, sometimes its really good, sometimes its really bad. Sometimes I'm glad to watch it, other times I feel guilty. Last season would have been better if they didn't drag it out, but it was still a lot better than season 1. Looking forward to this, but werewolves have me apprehensive. As if vampires weren't in season enough that they need to add werewolves as well to compete or something.

I'm surprised at myself for looking forward to this. I keep watching this show even though I'm not really sure what I like about it.

Regardless, I hope this is better than last season. I found the maenad story pretty uninteresting.

I didn't find it bad or uninteresting, I just found it to go on far too long. When Maryann finally died, it was way overdue. I think they could have done that in half the time and introduce something far more intereseting for the second half of the season.

because it isn't following the progression of the books on which it is based or anything... lol

Well yeah, it's a matter of taste, clearly. I would've liked more about the Fellowship and a lot more screentime for Godric.

It's not like a show has ever deviated from it source material before (or picked out parts). Regardless of whether its following the books word for word or not, I just don't like werewolves.

The timing for all this shit is pretty funny.

Wow, I forgot they killed off Eggs at the end of the season. He was a good character too :/

I was just clarifying that while the timing may appear fortuitous, it's following (to some degree) the progression of the books, as opposed to "oh hey twilight has werewolves we need some too". This is secondhand info though, so it's possible I was misinformed.

I realize that. It may just be a huge coincidence, but my inner cynic doesn't want to believe its that simple. But fuck it, I'll watch it anyway.

I swear to god if the werewolf falls in love with her...

What if as a twist, SHE falls in love with a werewolf???? Oh man. I'm blowing my own mind here.

That sums up the entire series for me so far. At this point I'd rather just Bill fucking die and get replaced by Eric because more often than not I'm just really bored by Bill and prefer a vampire that calls Sookie on her shit from time to time lol.

I would be completely fine with them changing the show to True Blood: The Adventures of Eric and Godric and just following the two of them over their 1000 years of being awesome.

I hope they maintain their quota of Sookie tits. Seriously, one of my favorite shows, can't wait.

I just hope werewolves wont be running around shirtless like the fags from Twilight, other than that more of Evan Rachel Woods and Jessica. They should hook up.

If they did, it'd be in a way that made fun of themselves for doing so. That's the best part of this show. That dry comedic undertone that's borderline trolling.

    ... That, and the tits.

True Blood kills off all the interesting characters and leaves the worst. When I started watching this I was really hoping it would be a strong character show like Six Feet Under, but I only continue to watch it because it's entertainingly bad.

Charlaine Harris's The Southern Vampire Mysteries that True Blood is based off of, as well as Stephanie Meyer's Twilight shit; pales in comparison to Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Vamprie Hunter series. Not to mention, Laurell's books started years before Charlaine's did.

I like True Blood a lot, but would have a million times over been more thrilled had HBO went with the better big options out there.

If any of you are avid readers as well as TV show watchers, give them a try. They pretty much pioneered the whole Vamprie/Werewolf love triangle thing, and did a better job doing it.

    Book 1: Guilty Pleasures
    Book 2: The Laughing Corpse
Book 3: Circus of the Damned
    Book 4: The Lunatic Cafe
    Book 5: Bloody Bones
    Book 6: The Killing Dance
    Book 7: Burnt Offerings
    Book 8: Blue Moon
    Book 9: Obsidian Butterfly
    Book 10: Narcissus in Chains
    Book 11: Cerulean Sins
    Book 12: Incubus Dreams
    Book 13: Micah
    Book 14: Danse Macabre
    Book 15: The Harlequin
    Book 16: Blood Noir
    Book 17: Skin Trade
    Book 18: Flirt
    Book 19: Bullet
