If you're 50, do you seriously just camp eltnen/morheim and kill lowbies that infiltrate your territory? Serious question because the amount of 50s doing this is astonishing like MIND BLOWING. How do you honestly do something that doesn't benefit you at all for hours straight o.O

asmos on marchutan (now israphel) do it because they have nothing better to do. its either that or duel in primum all day since they cant take any forts.

Usually when I see pinks out leveling in the abyss I leave them alone; no reward for killing them, why bother.I do know people however, that camp rifts to get their daily quests done, and just massacre anyone who pops through just for sport.

I haven't played Aion in roughly 6 months and I don't think I ever saw pink names (even though I was 50)

is that a new feature for players ten levels below you ? it sounds like a great way to prevent useless ganking

Yeah, a person 10 levels below you has a pink name, and 10 levels above you has a purple name. There are some people out there who don't bother killing pinks so it has helped, but there are still plenty of people who don't care.

If I'm out doing something else in Eltnen and I see twinks I'll kill them, but if I see them in the abyss I'll leave them alone. Unless they attack me first. I have too much to do to be standing around Eltnen ganking twinks, but it's fun to do sometimes. Especially because I know of some groups who just do it to be obnoxious and not because they're getting much AP out of it.

Somewhat related, I saved my Eltnen ports on my sin just to fuck with people once I get to generalish or a high rank.

After only 45 minutes of rifting as me, 40 cleric and a 36 glad, we had a fuckton of 50s on us in morheim, it's completely ridiculous. We got a 50 sorc and 50sm down, and when we got a 50 glad down to 5% and he ran, shit became insane and most of his clan came down to hunt us. There were, I shit you not, over 25 different lv50s running between mist mane and the turnpike. People really need to go do something their own level range honestly, it's not even as if we were hunting 30s, as we didn't get a single pink kill in the entire hour.

This is basically the same treatment I give to lowbies. I don't go out of my way to hunt them down, but if I happen to be in eltnen for whatever reason and come across known gankers, I'll most likely attack.

I get ganked by purples all the time. Ill be grinding somewhere, they come up behind me and kill me, then take off.

It happens a lot, but honestly, I like it. If they kill me they get 1 ap, if I kill them I get 1200 AP (and there's a surprisingly high number of 50s in morheim that I somehow can kill)

This is what a lot of people don't seem to realize when they bitch that no level 50's are helping against twinks. The level 50's have nothing to gain, but plenty to lose depending on the rank. And a decked out twink ranger plus cleric is going to be hard to handle alone (at least for a chanter, sluggish healing casting times). You end up making an ass out of yourself, losing AP, and feeding a ton of it.

I'm a cleric, fully decked I cannot be killed by any character solo if I choose not to die. I never let a 50 kill me because they're bad if they're trying to kill me anyway. The problem lies in the fact that even though I am unbeatable, I cannot kill a player 10 levels higher than me because I am indeed a caster.

LIke someone said, sometimes they can pick off 50s at their level but as a caster it's 100% IMPOSSIBLE to kill a higher lvl due to magic resists.

Maybe pre-1.9 but they did lower the resist rate by a very large margin. Even so, you shouldn't be expecting to do just about anything to a class 20 levels over you. You're a cleirc, not a ranger. You want to faceroll everything in the game? The "create character" button is right there waiting.

Even then, a ranger,sin or glad need fucking awesome gear to kill higher levels. For it to be effective, it needs some serious twinkage, not just the old daevanion set and krom weapon. On Zikel I've encountered only a handful of them since the merger since it seems a lot of the pimped out twinks we used to see leveled up to 50. Glads really are especially nasty since you can combine krom pole with aspd pole. Some simple AP rings with that and they kick your ass so fucking bad.

It's only 10 levels if I'm 40 and they're purple. Though the fact that casters in this game are completely screwed over when it comes to fending off higher levels remains certain.
