First, some history. I had windows 7 and server 2008 both installed on my machine. Dual booted, no problems. So i decided to get rid of 2008 and get XP. So, I formatted my 15g partition then restarted the comp with Win XP CD in. Installed it to my partition, worked great.
But now, my boot menu is gone! It boots into XP every time! Which is strange because 7 is on C: and XP is on E:
I have tried to use EasyBCD, but it says it can not find a valid installation of XP (even though I am running the stupid program in XP!) However, it DOES find my Windows 7 install, but when I add it, still no boot menu!
I also tried to play with bootcfg that comes with XP. But it seems, I have some strange version of it, since none of the commands are available as what the interwebs tells me to use. It does however have the cmd line to boot XP. So I know the boot.ini is right. Oh and when i do a system search for the boot.ini file, nothing is found...
I really don't see how my computer is booting XP at all.
Thanks in advance for the help!
UPDATE: It put the XP boot.ini file on my Win7 partition!
