2012 MLB Postseason: Anti Semite MVP Conspiracy or how I learned to love the A's and O's

Well the post season starts tomorrow. Old thread is here http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/109...all-to-the-eye

Now we can look back at our god awful post season predictions and see how well we did, as well as debate the Cabrera/Trout & Posey/Braun MVP merits.

Comments on espn's website regarding the mvp race is hilarious. Mike Trout had a crazy season, but he's not the mvp.

I don't see how the MVP race can even be a discussion. When a man wins the triple crown that should be auto-MVP status too.

A lot of Trout homers and Detroit haters say Trout is mvp because of his WAR(lol) and because he missed the first 2 months of the season so IF he would've played he would win easily(lol). Let's be real, if it was Pujous(sp?), A-Rod, Jeter, etc etc that would've got the TC there would be no question about mvp.

Sorry, Trout just had the greatest season at CF in 50 years, since Willie Mays. Much more rare than the Triple Crown, which is just a quirky stat line.

It's not even an argument who should win, it's not the Offensive POTY award.

Slightly worse offensive numbers (and I do mean slightly), 1000x better defense (whatever runs he lost in offense vs Cabrera, he more than saved that many defensively), baserunning, better team, better record, etc, etc.

How deep are dem Angels going in the playoffs this year? Probably about as deep as dem Cowboys.

Detroit Tigers: 7th best record in the AL (out of 14). Still win division.

What does that matter? Detroit barely won the Comedy Central, their division is a joke.

Angels had a better record, in the toughest division.

For those that take into consideration Trout's contributions in the field, do you give Cabrera any slack for transferring to 3rd base to make room for Prince? Honest question.

I agree. I'm just razzing you. But, I don't think it can be ignored the Tiggers are in the playoffs and the Halos aren't. I do think it's a somewhat hard decision for who's mvp, but it's the Triple Crown! Hasn't happened in 45 years.

lmao, one guy had the best stats in three arbitrary numbers, one of which completely under the control of his teammates getting on base, so he automatically deserves the most valuable player award despite the fact that another player who only played for four months has the most value as a player this year by a long shot

And Trout just had the best season for a center fielder since Willie Mays - that's at least 50 years.

Miggy helped get his team get to the playoffs.

Young Troutster helped his team solidify their place in third place.

I see more value in Cabrera. Yeah, Trout had a better seasonw ith numbers that aren't as easy to understand as Average/RBI/Home Runs.. but Miggy was valuable in getting his team to the post season, lousy division or not.

Maybe Trout should talk to Pujols, CJ Wilson, and all these other guys that are making a shit ton of money and ask them about you know.. not sucking for extended portions of the season so they'd have a chance at a title.

Needed to get this on the first page for easy access at the All-Star Break when half of these teams are out of contention.

You were wrong about the Braves. There's no close enough in 'Wild Card with a potential to get eliminated in one game' in comparison to winning a division.

    50% aint' bad though.

Guess it depends on the definition of "Value" being used to determine MVP -- being the best guy on a playoff team, or the best guy throughout baseball. By the first definition Cabrera has more value; by the second, Trout wins.

    Spoiler: show
I also find Trout endearing because he's from South Jersey and a Phillies fan
