Doing the exact same thing, sometimes the Conflag lasts 10 seconds, other time it lasts 20 seconds, and sometimes 30. It makes no sense to us.
Does anyone understand this?

Diminishing return?
I don't think so. It's an 'add' that traps someone and kills them after 10/20/30 seconds. We've found that the second and fourth almost always last 10 seconds, which isn't enough time to kill it. Unless we're supposed to limit break it, but we won't have one for both.
edit: deleted
It's based on how many stacks of Waxen Flesh he has up, pretty sure. If you have a lot of people that get hit by the fire spit, you'll have a lot less time to deal with the conflag before it goes boom. You can avoid one of the fire spits entirely by having his target run into an existing conflag. If that's a good strategy or not we're not sure yet. Didn't get very many tries at it last cycle.
This is as good a place as any:

You know how I know reddit is gay?
I was gonna go with "Someone deleted the exploit".
super carebear rofl
Good thing that means I can still read it.
From the sound of it, they were victims/activists of a common bug. If you have a tank with top agro DC and continue to live through until his body DCs the boss will stand there doing auto attack swings at people unable to advance the phases. Don't do this bug. It will get you perma banned if SE finds out you are doing it on purpose. Or do it, I don't care, idiots will be idiots. Who am I to tell people how to play.
Between this and the Rez sickness bug(?) it's the most broken thing in this game.
If only Rata was on Turn 5, he could tell us how he cleared it legit today.
I'm cool with rata, but I did laugh out loud a little at that.
Back on topic, can anyone else confirm that the first Fireball Twintania casts is done at a completely random time, and sets the pace for the rest of the Fireballs?
We're seeing Twintania cast her first Fireball at a completely random time. It can come 15+ seconds before the first Conflag, at the same time as the first Conflag, or after the first Conflag. We've seen a huge range of times.
This is particularly problematic, because if it comes at the same time or just after Conflag, we get a second Fireball that lands while she still has Waxen Flesh up. This bumps it up to max stacks and ensures that whoever is in the next Conflag is dead.
I've watched a few videos, and only one other group seems to have this problem. For the rest, it seems like Fireballs are timed such that two never overlap each others' stacks.
Fireball timing isn't random.
18s prior to first, during, and after seem like standard rotation
The first Fireball's timing is 100% random for us. The rest after that are consistent.
I've run stop watches from the instant the Neurolink goes down to the first Fireball and get different results every time.
Sometimes we get 10+ seconds between first Fireball and Conflag, other times we get it at the same time or after Conflag, or any time in between.
Actually, I just checked my action log in xivapp for tonight's attempts, and she's casting Fireball with a 23/24 second gap 50% of the time. This is definitely a bug.
Maybe it has to do with instance group? Is anyone in group 1 not encountering this behavior?
EDIT: http://www.twitch.tv/frostx/b/464077596
Around 1:28:00, they get a Fireball that would have stacked on top of the previous Fireball and run it into the Conflag. This is what we're seeing, but much more often.
In most other videos, this problem isn't encountered.
