Will try, I hadn't updated my VLC in a while and it didnt work. Apparently a version came out 2 days ago with blu ray support (beta) or something.

I've been using Power DVD 9 that came with my player. It's worked fine on all the blu-rays I've played with it.

I was using power dvd 8 that came with my player as well. Yesterday, it said the disc was protected and it couldn't play it, and to update my power dvd (80 bucks) in order to get the proper blahblah to play it.

Actually figured out the reason was that in addition to my main display, I had an hdmi cord going to my brobox, and apparently that stopped it from working properly. Took the hdmi cable out and it worked again
