Any type O blood, willing to donate? Friend's brother needs this for a transplant

I have to talk to you all about something that is really serious and I would greatly appreciate just a moment of your time just to give this a read.

My brother needs a kidney transplant. For one reason or another, health wise, I was the only one who was suited to donate to him. However, through I recent blood test we have discovered that I am blood type A- while my brother is type O. That being said my brother requires a type O blood donor.

So now I am reaching out to friends, family, and even complete strangers to help me look for a donor for my brother.

Something like this is time sensitive and that is why I'm putting this message out there for anyone who'd be willing to help my family.

Even if you, yourself, aren't interested in being a donor, please share this post and help me spread this around so we might be able to find someone out there who can help.

He's a good friend of mine and if possible, I'd like to be able to assist in finding a donor for his brother. If you're able to help, PM me and I'll get you his contact info. Thanks a lot

They would go to a doctor in their area to get tested and they would take care of shipping tissue samples and stuff

i dont actually know my blood type, which is weird with how many and how regularly i get tests done. but its not really something they test specifically for, so i dont see it. they have to know, because i had a transfusion when i was recovering from surgery, but every time i ask it's "i can't see that from here." and shit. fucking silly.

i can't donate anyway, though. my medications dont play nice with others.

Type-B something here. Chiming in though. I work in the immunology field and know how how difficult it is to find that needle in a haystack. HLA typing is a whole world of complexity beyond simple ABO blood type. I'm pretty confident I wouldn't even be a match since my class 1 HLA B allele typing (B75,77) only shows up in 0.0001% of the world's population in that combination and that doesn't include the other 4 alleles.

The title/message is a little confusing. most peoples responses here look like they think it's donating blood. might want to make it more clear you're looking for a kidney donor that is also type O blood.

Edit Again: Just saw this is a CS post, I'm in your neighborhood. Are they willing to buy it..cause i'm broke and could use the money, still happy to give blood though.
