So every now and then my monitors display will cut to a black screen, before it was pretty infrequent now its happening more and more often, usually only when I'm doing something like watching a video or playing a game.
The monitor makes a small popping sound when it cuts to black, almost sounds like a single bubble wrap popping.
My guess is its a faulty capacitor but I honestly don't know enough about monitor repair to guess. If it is a capacitor, what would be visible signs of wear?
I've done some soldering before, quite a bit actually, took a few classes that were quite dependent on it. Would it be easy to identify the faulty capacitor and replace it if you have a decent bit of soldering skill? If that is what the problem is anyways?
Thanks yall.
