    White Mage 3.0 - The Air Bender

    Hasn't been a thread for this job yet (and my computer broke again) so I made one.

    New White Mage abilities
    Spoiler: show




    Change List
    -Graniteskin(10% to 18% HP Shield) has been removed and replaced with quick stoneskin (lowers casting time to 2.5s)
    -Presence of Mind no longer doubles spell speed (need verification on this).
    -Holy got another damage nerf, scales down in damage the more mobs you hit.

    +-Protect now innately has Magic Damage Reduction
    +Proshell swapped for Enhanced Medica (20% Medica will cost half MP).
    +Spell Speed now affects DoT/HoT.

    I find WHM isn't really discussed much. None of the new skills change the playstyle in the slightest.

    Really enjoying having a bubble on WHM as well. Sacred Soil was always so satisfying to use for some reason.

    White Mage is pretty much the Paladin of healers so I can see why that's the case. That said I would like to know if anyone looked into how spell speed scales with our HoTs/DoTs.

    If you have a WHM + SCH in a party, can you have an Asylum and a Sacred Soil overlapping and get both effects? I assume so, but I know you can't have 2x Sacred Soil effects, I figured I'd ask.

    Tooltip says Asylum can't be used with other bubbles so I would assume no. Surprisingly, I haven't been in a party with another SCH though to eyeball that.

    I think that is a PvP specific thing. In the same way SCH cannot have Soil and Shadow, WHM cannot have Asylum and Sacred Prism. Was my interpretation anyways.

    How I see the new abilities:
    Asylum - Get ready for my holy spam because that's the only healing you gonna get.
    Aero III - I guess I should put some dots up before holy spamming.
    Assize - I need more MP to spam holy even more, also stop getting hit in the face.
    Tetragrammaton - I guess I should heal that tank now.
    Stone III - There's less than 3 mobs left alive.

    From what I've seen so far I'm pretty sure SCH and WHM bubbles are stackable.

    Has someone done more testing on this? I did some pretty quick and dirty testing myself and it didn't look like spell speed was affecting the potency or amount of ticks for our HoTs.

    Honestly doesn't matter. You just want as much PIE as possible as a WHM. Other secondaries are inconsequential.

    For what it's worth I did do some more testing on it just now and it does seem to increase the potency (not # of ticks like one would expect). I used level 50 int gear to do the testing and the difference was miniscule I think DET/PIE is still going to come out on top since DET will affect all of our heals while SS will only affect our HoTs. I'm curious if someone has done more structured testing on this, though. PIE is the obvious main secondary at least this tier, but choosing between DET/PIE and SS/PIE should be more interesting.

    The effect of SS on DoTs is very small, it's not something you will be able to eyeball easily.

    The change wasn't meant to make SS the go-to stat for DoTs, it was a change meant to try and make SS not so worthless for SMNs/BRDs/etc.

    Anyone has the new HP restored formula for lv 60?

    The one i had was

    (potency/300) x [(MD x (0.01123 x MND + 0.0021 x DTR + 0.28) + 0.242 x MND + 0.1 x DTR

    Which would give the WHM average 2.4k HP restored on cure, but he's doing about 2.9-3k average

    I've personally always preferred spell speed, I guess it's something that carried over from ffxi were I'd use fast cast gear to start a cast and land in strongest potency...


    I'm currently in A3 savage and going strong. Many argued with my choices but quiet honestly if I'm missing 10 spell speed I notice. The stronger regen is just an added bonus.

    Wow, drop rates on healer gear in The Vault are seriously pathetic... I've done it 10x now. 1-2 runs from dinging, all EXP from 57 onward were got in The Vault and the only thing I've seen drop are Halonic healer legs...

    What's the consensus for WHM melding so far? Accuracy galore or absent secondaries on Midas gear?
