    Gangsta

In the city of Ergastulum, a shady ville filled with made men and petty thieves, whores on the make and cops on the take, there are some deeds too dirty for even its jaded inhabitants to touch. Enter the "Handymen," Nic and Worick, who take care of the jobs no one else will handle. Until the day when a cop they know on the force requests their help in taking down a new gang muscling in on the territory of a top Mafia family. It seems like business (and mayhem) as usual, but the Handymen are about to find that this job is a lot more than they bargained for.

This is probably the edgiest show of the season. I enjoyed the first episode though. I can't tell yet but this might be one of those fujobait shows (anime that are mostly manservice, that is) but I hope not.

Also a deaf main character. Honestly never seen this before in anime ever.

Could end every episode with the two dudes explicitly fucking each other and it'd still be better than literally every other show out this season.

That said, I get a definite Black Lagoon feel, which means everyone should be watching it.

This. It'd be better than most of the shit these past couple of seasons.

I never saw Black Lagoon, so if it's similar, I need to check it out.

    Sorry, couldn't help it.

But now I'll have to check this and Black Lagoon out..isn't the latter on Netflix? I think I had it on my queue because the premise sounded neat.

The manga is glorious and is worth a skim through post watching this. I really enjoyed the episode and sets a damn good tone for the season.

I just "acquired" a copy of BL's seasons and I see where these comments are coming from.

I want this to be as original as possible though since it deserves to be that baller

It only is so reminiscent of BL because there is a limit on the amount of merc/gangster based anime in comparison to the moeshit flood.

I'm sure this will be very original, just gives us a good reminder of one of the best series in the 2000s.

I thought you guys were talking about BoysLove (BL) since I was reading backwards. Black Lagoon is something that everyone should watch, it's so good. If this is in any way comparable to it, I guess I should check it out.

That fucking episode of BL where they're in the submarine man.

Now I wanna rewatch BL for like the 4th time.

What's more glorious than fighting Nazi wanna be's on a U-Boat and picking up some epic depression and taking it out on everyone and everything you see within the next hour?!

BL subbed or dubbed the way to go?

  15. #15

Dubbed is fine, but you'll naturally have some haters.

I have both. Dubbed is done well.

BL is one of the few shows that works perfectly dubbed or subbed. I like me some subs Revy, but the whole thing feels more legit dubbed.

I feel the opposite, I just couldn't feel Revy in dubbed. Had to be subbed for me. It was at least done well enough that I don't hate on people who watch the dubbed though.

So if I'm loving this I should watch Black Lagoon?

Yes, BL is fucking great. Jormungand has a similar feel to BL and I think has a BL reference in it...or same universe.

    Either way yes. Watch.

I'm pretty sure I said that I liked Revy subbed more than dubbed. JP Revy is the shit.

It's just overall the show feels more complete in English just due to the settings and characters. While I've long since gotten used to every white/black/whatever person speaking Japanese in anime it's still weird lol
