    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the official chocobo "i'm only raising it for a vorseal" guide

1)collect some items from: wildgrass seeds in your Garden Furrows (unreliable) or Gardening (~1 week growth) or AH (extremely unreliable).
    *8+ stacks of Vomp Carrots
    *4+ stacks of Azouph Greens
    *1 stack of Cupid Worms
*1 stack of Gausebit Grass (cannot be gardened, drop only)
2)get an egg. Quest,NPC purchase,ISNM, breed one with chococards at Finbarr.
*4/4 on colored chocobos from Compliments to the Chef: 2 red, 1 green, 1 black
3)trade the egg to Hantileon in s.sandy chocobo stables. take note of what time you trade your egg, because that is what time your chocobo day resets.
4)care for your egg>watch over the egg 100x (will take about 20minutes to complete)
*after this point, please note that reports are for the -previous day-. so if you are seeing day 3 report, your current day is 4.
5)check in with the npc for the next 4 days. From this point: DO NOT WORRY IF YOU MISS DAYS. The majority of stats come from care plans, not food. At worst, you may lose a lvl of affection, but that is easily corrected with food: greens and care: watch over chocobo.
6)get a cook to craft you 4 stacks of carrot paste and 1 stack of celerity salad.
7)the fourth day report ends with your baby chocobo hatching. you may choose to name your chocobo at any time from this point until about day 65.
8)set all 4 care plans to "take a walk in town" for seven days
9)begin daily care for your chocobo "go on a walk (short)" x2 (x3 if you have 50% stamina after the 2nd walk).
*this will eventually award "Story of an Impatient Chocobo" (Gallop)
10)starting after the fifth day report, start daily feed your chocobo 1-2 carrot paste
11)from this point, if you chocobo becomes ill or lovesick, trade a celerity salad each day until it recovers.
*use only one per day, replaces one food item. do not overfeed your chocobo.
12)if your chocobo becomes spoiled, do care for your chocobo "scold the chocobo".
13)complete the "crying at night" sub-event involving the white hankerchief around day 7 if you have not obtained a chocobo whistle with another chocobo previously.
*After being given the handkerchief key item, zone and wait at least one Vanadiel day. The next time you talk to the VCS trainer s/he will retrieve the handkerchief and the chick will recover in his/her next update.
14)starting after the 19th day report, when your chocobo becomes an adolescent, change all your care plans to "carry packages"
15)care plan "carry packages" has a high chance to result in injury to your chocobo. if this occurs, trade a gausebit grass each day until it recovers.
*use only one per day, replaces one food item. do not overfeed your chocobo.
16)begin daily care for your chocobo "go on a walk (regular)" x2 only after you have received the story reward from short walks
*this will eventually award "Story of a Worrisome Chocobo" (Burrow)
17)begin a new feeding routine of trading (one at a time) vomp carrots x2, then azouph greens x1.
18)if your chocobo becomes bored, do care for your chocobo "compete against others". *doing this care once is a pre-req for participating in chocobo racing.*
*winning this sub-event x3 awards "Story of a Happy Chocobo" (Auto Regen)
19)starting after the 29th day report, when your chocobo becomes an adult, begin care for your chocobo "go on a walk (long)" x1 (x2 if possible)
*this will eventually award a variety of stories, including "Story of a Curious Chocobo" (Canter) after interacting with Brutus x3.
20)you can now obtain a Chocobo Whistle, if you haven't obtained one with a previous chocobo
21)at some point, obtain a CRA racing form from your VCS trainer and trade it to a CRA official to begin Chocobo Racing.
*if you plan to continue raising your chocobo, it is recommended you join the first place race team. check standings at Khatri in the chocobo circuit by selecting "racing teams".
22)first, you need to pass the "CRA official (0 chocobucks)" races aka "novice races". the objective is to place 3rd or higher. results vary based on competitors.
*your chocobo should be above average str/end on day 30, allowing you to clear the 3 novice races with Speed Apples.
23)you may now participate in free runs to earn chocobucks. there is no daily limit, and fees gradually increase but reset at jp midnight.
    *at s-str/a-end approximate daily rewards: 15 runs, 30k cost, 40cb; 30 runs, 150k cost, 80cb.
*carrots/greens are 10cb/stack. specific stat boost is 80cb. green racing silks are 150cb and cut energy usage by about 30%.
24)once you have enough chocobucks to buy entry, you can compete in the challenge races. completing this series of 5 races is how you obtain the chocorookie title and unlock your vorseal.
*it may be wise to start this only after your chocobo's strength/endurance is "Impressive"+.
    25)good luck!

[if the npc gives you the "already registered" notice, just toss your racing form]

You trade the Wildgrass seed (can buy from the Green Thumb Moogle in Mog Garden, no KI required) and examine it, when it gives you the option to trade crystals trade a single earth crystal, examine again the day after, and the following day the option to harvest should be possible. There are like 3-4 possible results if you follow this path (Little worm, something else, Vomp Carrots) but very often it's gonna be Vomp Carrots, a lot of them, like 10+. Just make sure to have at least 4 Wooden Pots. Also remember that seeds and Crystals need to be either in your Mog Safe or Mog Safe 2, and that the resulting harvestest stuff will appear in your Mog Safe or Mog Safe 2.

[i do not recommend arcane flowerpots because they make the growth period longer without adding any benefit to crop yield.]
[feed ice crystals for zegham carrots, sharug greens, and azouph greens]
[lazy mode: brass flowerpots 1k from bastok npc.]

I have no signboard and think will never do unless SE does something with GP because fuck farming 150k cooking GPs these days.
I did raise multiple Chocobos though, guess we can rule out that one.

I'm more leaning towards quests or something else like that than owning a 150k GP item, but who knows, maybe I'm being too naive.

I am at 8/8 acc/eva. The only 2 Categories uncapped are atk/ra 7/8 and Magic acc/eva 7/8 for me. but i have no idea what triggered this.

Did you do "A Discerning Eye" 5+ times, gaining the title "Discerning Individual"? That unlocked the last magic vorseal for me, altough I'm unsure if that was macc or matk... Check the Ru'aun discussion.

I've got 8/8 atk/ratk, but I couldn't tell you where the mystery one came from- nothing I've done recently anyway.

From the stuff I see mentioned above, I've got the following done:
    * Done all the racing chocobo crap, trophies, pullus torque, etc.
    * Signboard, and every other goldsmithing furniture item
    * Lots of Maze Mongers, not sure about specific titles
    * Odin2/Omega2/Ultima2
    * Lots of Pankration, but never one of those win-all-the-battles type mobs

And I have not done the following:
    * Stygian Pact quest
    * Ballista at all
    * Fish ranking stuff
    * Missing a small handful of the sillier Atmas

    0. I have a lot of crafts at zero.
Not sure if I ever killed Ultima2/Omega2/Odin2. Maybe I did, I don't remember. Wasn't playing much during those days, my LS had died and I was mostly logging to solo Dynamis on BST to fund my Ghorn and then logging off.

well, i see that atk can't have anythign to do with jobs cuz you're low on a few.

however, crafts min lv 40/50/60 could still be a thing.

One craft past 60 maybe (altough I doubt it, most of these strange vorseals seem to be tied to Titles, isn't it? And crafting gives none) but definitely not all crafts to 40/50/60 because, as I said, majority of my crafts are at 0.

Couldn't Omega2/Ultima2/Odin2 be tied to at least one vorseal? At least one of them could be unlocking a Vorseal.
Anybody who got to 8 WITHOUT any of the 3 guys above?

might be going too deep with this, since there is definitely a pattern to the quests.

like atk/ratk is missing 2, but i would guess one of them is gobbiebag and/or mog safe expansions or possibly mh exits.

the other quest for atk is going to be another quest that is duplicated between the nations, but clearly one that is more obscure than discerning eye or beastman hat.

yeah... none of these objectives are end-game. need to just look at city quest pages. lol

    -----------------------------

is there a windurst equivalent of The Gustaberg Tour and Introduction to Teamwork?
or a sandy equivalent to The Siren's Tear/To Catch a Falling Star or Brygid the Stylist/A Pose by Any Other Name? lol

there's escort for hires in each city and eco-warrior
i've completed efh:bastok/sandy, but have done no eco-warrior.

I've done the one in Palborough Mines against a plethora of Slimes capped at... level 10? Can't remember the name, it was over 10 years ago.
Tried the one in Dangruf Wadi but always failed.
There's also one in Crawler's Nest and I think I've completed that a few times if I recall.

the eco-warrior quest? ok that might be the acc vorseal then.

i am not sure how many times i've done sandy escort quest, but i know i only did bastok once. i just now completed windy escort for hire and no vorseal unlocked.

I have 8/8 in the basic vorseals except atk/ratk which is 7/7.

    I haven't finished stygian pact.
I've set foot in the special ballista zones, but never done ballista.
    I do have a signboard.
I have every atma but the one for getting Maat's cap.
I have killed Odin II, Omega II, and Ultima II.
    I have done fish ranking.
Not sure on my MMM title, but I've done some.
I have fishing and cooking capped, and gold capped at sub. Many other crafts down at like 28.
I don't have all those job titles, nor have I cleared genkai with many jobs.

I have never done chocobo racing, pankration, eco-warrior, or the escort quests. So unless those unlock that last atk vorseal, they won't unlock anything.

Would just like to confirm that completion of "Mirror Images" quest unlocks a MAtk vorseal. Had that open for months, completed it just now and have gone from 7/8 -> 8/8.

I think there's more requirements than just level 30 in Monstrosity for one of the Magic Acc ones, as I'm currently 6/8 on that, and have definitely done RotZ/CoP/ToAU, and ACP. (Haven't done Exped force yet, though). I remember people talking about NM status; was that confirmed?
Edit: I hit Notorious Monster status, and still no Mag Acc/Eva. Starting to doubt I have all the NM kills now.

    can call trust for eco-warrior.

tank, 2 blm, whm, w/e job, everything dies.

1/3 EW is not a vorseal objective
    unsure 3/3 completion.

    --

completed A Job for the Consortium

    not a vorseal objective

    --

    completed Knocking on Forbidden Doors

    not a vorseal objective

    --

    completed The Miraculous Dale

    not a vorseal objective

    --

    completed Babban Ny Mheillea

    not a vorseal objective

for monstrosity, i can confirm that i had my friend go in as lv1 rabbit, get lv30, then get the vorseal unlock. i don't think you need 100k xp to get 1 monster to lv30. it looks like there may be some condition of unlocking a 2nd tier class?

like you get that notice that you've unlocked an instinct and you can play a new monster/class or something (forget exact wording).
