Windows 7 machine can connect to router and see other computers in Network but cant get on Internet

Very weird, all windows 7 troubleshooting from the PC itself says detects no problems, reset the winsock catalog and arp table, no effect, toggled detect automatic settings in lan connection, disabled all adapters and reenabled them, release, renew, cant browse sites with IP or name, every other computer/device on network gets on internet fine.

computer is hardwired to router and currently the built in wireless adapter (not a laptop, it's a desktop) is disabled completely, stumped here, thanks for any help.

Have you tried setting static IPs? That comp might be trying to use an IP already used by another computer.

If setting static IPs does not fix your issue, try direct connecting it to your modem to see if there's a problem with your physical NIC rather than your router settings.

afaik the July 9th virus changes your DNS settings, so if he can't access sites via IP address as well, it wouldn't be that.

I'm thinking this thing was infected with malware that put proxy settings in the registry. EAsy way to remove this is with hijackthis.
