I know how to fish. Asking if i'm in the right grade waters is kinda silly.
Well tbh the amount of people that say they know what they are doing, give the ol' been doing this shit since beta line, and provide minimal information are usually missing something easy. At least from a tech support standpoint. you provide little information, you get basic solutions.

I'm amazed you didn't experience this lag problem with fishing during the beta. i know i did.

Regardless I'm glad to see that you were able to pinpoint the problem.

Anyways.... fishing is a joke now. I got 120k sp last night after the patch. went from 43-45 in one sitting. Grade 10 offers 300sp 1200phy a catch.

You really never know when someone crawls out of the woodwork with 1 digit in posts and claims to know what they're doing yet can't do it right... it never bodes well. Honestly though, I don't see how you could have only run into the problem "since release" since very little changed between the two builds.

How were you able to fish thru the cockblock you hit around 10k sp in one sitting?

DoL Fatigue is not based on SP, but number of strikes.
(Surplus is based on SP over 7 days, which was also likely hit since it starts somewhere close to 120k SP acquired)
10k for fatigue still seems rather low, that would take a lot of failed casts.

Also considering, since the player was getting 300 SP per fish when it was caught, even critical fails from DoL fatigue would net him 150 SP, while grinding through hard fatigue.
So zero fish would be caught, but since the player was likely getting ~100 SP per caught fish prior to 1.15a patch, and now getting 150 for crit fails, why would they stop the grind if they have time to spend on it still?

    Also Heithem,
Server lag does not cause any issues with BTN or MIN, other then just slowing you down. The jig lag issue is unique to fishing.

Ah I see. I'm a rank 18 still working on grade 3 so the only I can get in one hit is sea pickles near bloodshore. Usually have to jig, jig to get fish tired, and one more to catch it.

When is it a good idea to move to grade 4? I need the grade 4 fish for alchemy but I still get 5 "nothing bites" for every bite I get.

You can start to get decent nibbles in grade 4 around rank 22-23.

Cool thanks. Just noticed I can one shot Bianaq Bream at 18 now so it's going really fast.

I believe Purplenv did a great job explaining the broken fishing system.

Adding to that, the game is broken in grade 6+ waters. today at level 3 fatigue i was still getting around 260-270 sp a fish in grade 10. coupled with the fact that grade 6+ is only populated with level 1 fish means easy pickings.

elaborating on easy pickings, lets say for example you are skilling up in grade 4 waters. if you target crayfish, you notice that they are easier to reel in vs the other fish in the water, such as crimson crayfish. each fish has its own level that does not change based on its body of water. So even fatigued, these fish are relatively easy to reel in, which allows you to keep on skilling up with little penalty. I could not do this if i were targeting Crimson crayfish in grade 5 for example, the stamina bar would deplete after the first jig a majority of the time.

Also there is some sort of daily soft-cap on fish, generally for the first hour of the day after logging on i get really good bite rates and the fish seem easier to reel in. fatigue seems to have little affect on this.
