Well we have about 3000 FFXI players using it already. Definitely need more, but I am sure it will be used by more soon.

Watch the tutorial, you get to hear stan's feminine side!
This is an awsome site, Its like a Face book for FFXI LS's and i would recommend to anyone whos trying to start a LS website and have no clue where to start.
My only con. with guildwork (This is just my opinion) is that its kinda bleh, Takes all the originality out of seeing well put together LS websites, I love going to LS websites seeing what banners, background and other things they have incorporated. With this it looks like every other LS website with the same we killed "insert Abyssea NM,HNM,LS event" with different players in the SS. Awesome idea though and love the work put in my old LS even used guildwork and its really cool and i wish you the best of luck with it stan.
If you read the Developer Blog you will know we are working on a new design for the Guildwork itself as well as a theming framework for hosted sites. We kept this as the last thing we add because if you have noticed every other hosting solution provides some kind of originality but in the end it looks terrible and we want to make sure our offering does not. The other issue you may have noticed is majority of sites do not have a designer on board and do not have any kind of originality, even sites people host on their own.
But thank you for the other nice comments! =)
Been using this for months and months and seeing it progress is fantastic.

I think that's Ksandra speaking, but I've only been on vent with her once so I may have forgotten what she sounds like but all signs (in my head) currently point that direction.
But yeah, this guildwork stuff looks neat. If I were still playing an MMO at the moment I'd be all for this.
Nah, Stan's a eunich, that was him 100%
Spoiler: show
But yes, i 100% recommend this, been using it since stan AIM'd me and asked me to test it out. It went from neat to fucking amazing in a short amount of time =D im so happy to see that it bloomed into what it has.
Just replaced Markdown with BBCode and added embedding of items.

Enjoy =)

Customization with limits, unless you like reading yellow text on white backgrounds.
I've lost count of the amount of Guildportal sites I've seen with horrid tiled backgrounds of animated gifs or star fields, with some 2 second photoshop filter banner with twirl effect and drop shadow and and... oh gods I'm going to vomit.
I would love to use it if it didn't need the FFXI linkshell community site to link yourself to a linkshell. I hate when other sites rely on others to function, even tho i understand why you made it this way.
It looks like a functional version of Linkshell community. It draws almost all the information directly from there and pulls it into a facebook-esque organization that's people-centric rather than character-centric. Nice idea, and certainly more useful than Linkshell community, but it will be interesting to see how many people register multiple character names or use their real name.
If possible, it'd probably be helpful if you made some kind of simple plug-in for the games you support that automatically records attendance during event time and permits sort of streaming point adjustment. Like:
Event starts -> //guildpoints Event On
Someone does something good -> //guildpoints Name +3
Someone fucks up and MPKs the alliance -> //guildpoints Name -10
Someone afks -> //guildpoints afk Name On
They return -> //guildpoints afk Name Off
Event ends -> //guildpoints Event Off
And it updates your servers with the event info and points. I'd assume it'd be fairly simple to implement, and then your site has a distinct information advantage over ffxiah.
You can use Guildwork sites without even adding a character. You just loose some functionality, functionality you wouldn't have on a personal site like automatically being connected to your LS mates.
Guildwork not want you to use your real name the reason you see my rename on the front page is because I use my last name and first name as user names for things hence my usage of both for my FFXIV character. However you would be surprised how many people put RL pics on their profile (we didn't expect that) and we have over 3000 registrations now of which 70% have added at-least 1 character.
As for automatic event recording. Guildwork Desktop Client is in the works. =)
