Release date announced, trailer rumored to be attached to Man of Steel release.
http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/10/4...-godzilla.htmlIron Man 3 screenwriter Drew Pearce has been hired by Legendary Pictures to rewrite and polish up the script for the Gareth Edwards-directed Godzilla. Once the script is complete the studio will start the casting process.
The studio showed off some epic test footage at Comic-Con this year that got fans amped up to see more! It was pretty incredible, and it would be great if they released it online soon so everyone could see it! I'm looking forward to seeing more of Edwards' vision for this classic movie monster.
The original draft of the script was written by David Callahan, then David Goyer and Max Borenstein took a crack at it. According to inside sources, "the polish isn't being done because Legendary has any major problems with the script; it wants to age up the characters so that they fit the prototype of the actors they would like to target."

http://geektyrant.com/news/2013/1/7/...-godzilla.htmlAs director Gareth Edwards is prepping for a March shooting date for his Godzilla film, Legendary Pictures has hired Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, Shawshank Redemption, The Mist, The Green Mile) to re-write the script that was originally written by The Seventh Son scribe Max Borenstein. I think it's safe to say that the addition of Darabont on this project is freakin' awesome! But, there's some more drama going on behind the scenes.
Deadline reports that Legendary wants to get rid of producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee. They originally helped with putting the rights deal together for the production company, and they are fighting back. According to the report, "Lin and Lee refused to reduce the fees they signed on for when the original deal was made. Legendary brass feels it has the latitude to get rid of them, and is doing just that, exercising a pay or play clause and paying them upfront money to go away, with no back-end or credit on the film. The potential back-end on a global franchise is where the big bucks are."

http://geektyrant.com/news/2013/1/7/...-godzilla.htmlEarlier today we learned that Frank Darabont was hired to do a re-write on the script for Gareth Edward's Godzilla movie, and that producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee are being kicked off the project. Now some casting news has come to light.
THR mentioned that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was among several top actors to possibibly star in the movie. It was later clarified by the writer of the article via his Twitter that the offer was made last year and is no longer valid. Then Variety's Justin Kroll confirmed the other actors up for the movie, and those actors include: Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Scoot McNairy (Argo), and Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men: First Class). The studio wants Cavill, and McNairy and Caleb are decribed as being "creative choices," which means they're the actors that the director thinks will work best for the story, while the studio thinks Cavill will make them more money.

http://geektyrant.com/news/2013/1/9/...medium=twitterSome cool new details have emerged from the Godzilla remake that Legendary Pictures is currently producing. There's still not much information on the film that is being written by Frank Darabont and directed by Gareth Edwards, but we now know for sure that there will be more than one monster. The following information comes from CHUD who says the intel is 100% true...
- The film will feature more than one monster, confirming that two new monsters will also be wreaking havoc – this in addition to the big green guy.
- Warner Bros. made it clear that their interpretation of the material “follows the story of a soldier” and is “way different” than the Toho Godzilla films.
Apparently this info was revealed by the promotional arm of Warner Bros. who just wrapped a meeting detailing their upcoming slate for advertisers. It's not really surprising to me that we would see more than one giant monster, in fact I was counting on it. As for for the film being "way different" than the orignal films, they showed their concept of the film off at Comic-Con last year, and it was obvious that the tone and scope were going to be very different. So I guess the one bit of news that is news to me, is that the story will follow a soldier.

Well at least Godzilla looks better than that last movie's monster.
lookin good.
Long as Matthew Broderick is nowhere near this movie there's no way it can be worse than the last.
For people that still haven't seen trailer this one is probably going to not get taken down.
