I strongly disagree with this. Wolverine has a much deeper story than many people seem to know about. Like his participation in both World Wars, his time in Japan (which is what this movie is about) where he was married and had a kid (even though he didn't know the kid [Daken] survived), the cloning of him to make X23, his struggle to direct his son down the right path, etc.

I do think they need to make movies about other characters but I don't think Wolverine is one of the least interesting X-Men by far.

    As a side note:
I WANT A FUCKING MOVIE ABOUT SENTRY. That shit would be epic.

I know exactly who Sentry is. He was never an interesting character and being addicted to meth isn't a good reason.

    WONDERBOYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I know some marvel fans would like to see the Sentry get rammed by a helicarrier over and over again due to his constant presence in "character1 vs character2" what if debates.

Hugh Jackman is once again gearing up to dawn those metal claws as Wolverine, but he’s not quite in superhero shape just yet.

“I’m getting there. On the track,” Hugh told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on the red carpet at Sunday’s Oscars.

Hugh’s wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, who accompanied her hunk to the event, revealed that he’s been packing on those meaty pounds for “The Wolverine” with some carb-free cuisine.

“A lot of broccoli, a lot of protein,” Deborra-Lee said.

    “And lifting? Refrigerators?” Billy asked.

“Wife!” Hugh said of one of the things he’s used to pump up his muscles. “Just lifting anything.”

“He lifts me every day,” Deborra-Lee added with a laugh.

“Come here! Get on my shoulders, let’s do some squats,” Hugh added.

So how close is he to fitting back in mutant trousers and tank top?

“I am probably 10 lbs into a 30 lb kind of mountain,” Hugh said.

“You’ve got to put on 20 more? Of all muscle?” Billy asked, shocked.

“Yeah. That’s the plan. It’s no fun,” the actor said.

“Or get a fat suit,” Deborra-Lee laughed.

Darren Aronofsky is bowing out of directing 20th Century Fox’s sequel The Wolverine, saying the project would keep him out of the country for too long.

Fox and Hugh Jackman - who is set to return in the title role - said they remain fully committed to making Wolverine and will move aggressively to find a new director.

Fox hadn’t yet greenlit the sequel. A significant portion of the movie will be shot overseas (there had been plans to shoot in Japan).

"As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of The Wolverine would keep me out of the country for almost a year,” Aronofsky said in a joint statement with Fox.

“I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won't be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again,” he continued.

Stated Fox: “While we are of course disappointed that Darren can’t do The Wolverine, we also understand and respect his reasons. Having done both The Wrestler and Black Swan with Darren, we know he is an extraordinary talent and we look forward to working with him on other projects in the future. Hugh Jackman and Fox both remain fully committed to making The Wolverine. We will regroup and move forward aggressively.”

Aronofsky’s production company Protozoa has first-look deal with Fox.

As you know by now, Darren Aronofsky has dropped out of The Wolverine. His reason, while seemingly legit, may not in fact be the real reason. A rumor has just hit that presents another possible reason for our discussion.

According to CinemaBlend, Aronofsky wanted full control and 20th Century Fox wouldn’t give it to him. Aronofsky only likes working on projects where he has full control and did not want his film to have the same problem as the previous X-Men. It is very likely that Aronofsky decided to attach himself to the film, but would not finalize his contract until Fox agreed to give him the control he wanted.

It's reported that after Aronofsky had success with Black Swan, he demanded total control over the film, the same kind of control that Warner Bros. has given Christopher Nolan over the Batman franchise. It's reported that the studio offered to increase his salary, but that Aronofsky turned it down. CinemaBlend's source says, “the producers pretty much told him to walk.” That is just what he did today.

It's too bad that this setback occurred, but I am not horribly upset. I enjoy Aronofsky's work, but I don't think he was the best choice to direct the film anyay. He does not have a history of bringing blockbuster superhero action films to the screen. This theory makes much more sense than the one presented in the official press release. This is still a rumor even though it comes from a reliable source, so consider it speculation.

Here is some quick news on a quiet Saturday. AICN is reporting that Duncan Jones is taking a meeting with Fox about possibly taking over for Darren Aronofsky on The Wolverine. As you know, Jones is the director of Moon and Source Code. I think he is a great director Here is what Harry had to say:

Hey folks, Harry here... Just got a message from one of my followers on Twitter - about a SOURCE CODE Q&A in London that Duncan Jones did, where he stated that he has a meeting with Fox coming up regarding the possibility of him taking over WOLVERINE in lieu of Aronofsky's departure. That said, apparently the MOON & SOURCE CODE director feels like he would rather do his own original sci fi script next, but is taking the meeting more or less to explore options and be polite.

SO - what do you think of the director of SOURCE CODE and MOON taking on WOLVERINE in Japan? Personally, I have lost a lot of interest in the project since Aronofsky's departure. I mean. My heart still feels a bit broken over losing that pairing.
As I have said before, I am fine that Aronofsky is out of The Wolverine. I would love to see Jones directing the film. What are your thoughts on this possibility? Be sure to follow Jones on Twitter - @manmademoon.

Duncan Jones would do a great Wolverine I think. Moon & Source Code were both excellent.

Hugh Jackman is busy working on his muscles for the next Wolverine movie.

The 42-year-old actor is reprising his role as the Marvel superhero for a fifth time for new film ‘The Wolverine’ and he has been busy in the gym sculpting his physique into its best possible shape.

However, Hugh is holding off growing the mutant’s famous facial hair – for now.

He told UK TV breakfast show ‘Daybreak’: “Wolverine is coming back, so the claws are out. The chops aren’t grown yet but I’m starting to – the guns are getting there.”

The Australian star is also keeping busy supporting new charity Live Below The Line – which wants people to try and spend just £1 on food a day between May 2-6 to get a better understanding of the challenges faced by people living in extreme poverty, and to raise funds for crucial anti-poverty initiatives.

Speaking about the campaign, Hugh said: “I first became involved in the Global Poverty Project two or three years ago because it was just the most compelling idea. For five days we’re challenging people to live below the line. Even if you don’t want to do it for the full five days, you can do it for a day. Just sign up and if you don’t want to give up food, give up coffee – give up something, it’s just a symbol.”

tl:dr Hugh is still working out to become the buffest Wolverine, ever.

I swear he does a interview every few days just to tell people that he will be in shape for this supposive Wolverine film.
