No offense but holy shit you can't be more wrong about gunslinger. Golden gun with keyhole and combustion can do serious work. It also has better range and precision than any other super. Arcblade is fucking useless in PvE. It's only purpose is invis, and gunslinger with khepris has it, so yeah. Gunslinger has higher armor, ranged melee with DoT, stronger grenades, perks that aren't just situational bullshit, etc.

Gunslinger is the superior sub class for PvE by a fucking mile.

Chain of Woe and Gunslinger's Trance are two of the best perks in the game; end of discussion. Although, minor addendum to the discussion.. fuck its grenades. I sometimes think I die more to my own tripmines than I've killed with them >.>

The guns you'd be using in PvE aren't going to be gaining some massive benefit from those perks. They make bad guns playable, but you'd likely be using stuff like Vision/Fang/Fatebringer anyways.

The point is they're still useful perks that you're using 90% of the time. It doesn't turn guns into wtfjesus but it still makes ANY gun better.

Edit: Don't forget it's not just a primary weapon thing. Those perks apply to secondary/heavy as well.

I think Gad was responding more to Krandor's comments about Chain and Trance (although, I'd say Trance opens you up to not need Perfect Balance on Vision -- although I personally still use it..).

My view on this is that Destiny is primarily a shooter, so any perk which makes your abilities as a shooter better are good perks. While there are perks which give similar benefits (Outlaw (faster reloads) or one of the stability perks (fitted stock and perfect balance, I think?)), you can either stack them (for instance, Outlaw gives you 150% faster reload, Chain gives +20 per level -- combining them is phenomenal) or free yourself up by having the perk on your character.

All that said, people like Gad and I who are heavy PvP users probably see more benefits from perks which give marginal improvements to the shooter mechanics. In PvP, faster reloads and better stability are, hands down, some of the best perks you can get, and are far better than cloaking and being able to do 4x damage from behind an enemy.

Probably also worth mentioning that these perks were even more useful in the days before reforging when you were harder pressed to get ideal rolls on weapons..
