Rift: Random Complaint Thread

I can never get on a winning team for codex as gaurdian... but I've only lost a few black garden's. White Steppe.. half and half, but usually everybody just tries to get kills and screws the team over anyway..

Log in the game today, everyone all ready to grind some dungeons.

My character got hacked and is butt naked. ;_;

And before people saying anything retarded, I'm not stupid, never opened any emails or go to any websites or anything.

with how good trion was trying to be ontop of everything, I'm really surprised the games didn't start out with security tokens right away.

Must be some server-side exploit. I read about a bunch of people getting hax on this game. I won't believe you have a keylogger on your machine

They just have to know your email, if they have that they can brute force the password. There's no limit to your login attempts apparently.

Although I haven't been hacked myself, there is a massive explosion of posts on the official forums about the hackings. Apparently a ridiculous number of people are being hacked and in most situations people always say they did nothing wrong, but they usually did to compromise their account. However in this particular instance I don't think this is the case, there are far to many people being hacked for it to be all their faults. I have never seen such a vast percent of the community be hacked in suck a small frame of time before. I cannot jump to conclusions and say it is an issue on Trions side, but something somewhere is allowing access to huge amounts of accounts.

ya looking at the forums looks like trion did shit for security, which surprises me greatly. I read people scanning their comp, clearing all their shit and changing pw, and then getting hacked again two days later.

Anyone have any idea what the normal response time is?

Also do they do a roll back or just dupe the stuff? Wondering if I should bother crafting up some gear so we can play, but not really worth it if xp/gear is going to get deleted on a roll back.

Well I got hacked Friday morning, still haven't had my petition responded to at all as of right now. I was told they roll back your char, so I haven't touched my account at all because I dont wanna waste my time. But if that bruteforce thing is correct, I'm sure they have a humongous queue of hacked accounts. Who knows how long it'll take to get everything back. :\

Also I was away for the weekend, and now the patch is downloading at 10 kb/s. That is unacceptable. Hours for a 100 mb patch?

As I posted earlier, I have the same story as you. In addition to that, I also always have noscript on. So who knows. I hope they put a limit on the password attempts soon.

Rift open > group assembles > all players with healing skills go full melee. Fuck that. Just one of the assortment of dots that heal pt members would probably be enough in most cases. I don't even use taunt (generally, unless someone is actively keeping my hp in the good), just my abilities generate hate and make me tank. And then I die. And I get the feeling your rift contribution resets when you die?

It doesn't reset, but you don't gain more contribution while dead.

same, I keep scanning my computer and nothing is showing. I haven't changed my pw yet because I'm waiting for them to contact me first, and maybe someone will give an idea. If somehow they do have a keylogger that isn't showing, changing the pw won't help.

I wish it did'nt kick you off after 15 minutes. I'm used to FFXI where I see tons of people just standing around idle. Rift feels empty when I /who sanctum and it only shows like 6 people.

this is what I'm leaning towards, which is another reason to not bother making new pws until they fix their shit.

A few complaints: 1) Opening bags is like 52 card pick up. Sometimes they all open, sometimes they don't and sometimes they open all over the damn window. Unless I'm missing something in the settings, I would prefer them open up and lock similar to WoW. 2) Low level rifts. These are excellent for exp/loot/planarite etc but in a lot of the lower level areas, there aren't enough people to even complete them. It would be cool to see some NPCs come to the aid etc (just an idea).
