Seemed to me he pretty much got friend zoned in that episode.

The only thing that they really left open was that Korra and Mako like each other and they aren't really sure what to do about it atm since he's going out with Asami.

I'm sure he'll end up with some sort of romance with someone before the series ends. They kinda made sure most of the main characters did in TLA anyway I could see them throwing someone in for him.

Oh they'll definitely come back to the romance subplot many times throughout the story, they probably just wanted to get the ground work out of the way first and foremost. I mean at this point, the first season is 20 something episodes and a second season is already being planned (iirc) so they have plenty of time to play with shipping. And unlike the original season it's not so clear cut as to who will end up with who at the end so I wouldn't be surprised if it actually plays a bigger part of the story as a whole.

That said, as quickly as this romance "came and went" for the most part, it's still nothing compared to how quickly Sokka put the moves on the chicks he fell for. That boy had all the girls eating out of his hands within minutes of meeting em. Not just Yue and Sukki either (who both fell in love within an episode), but Ty-Lee, the poet girls, hell pretty much any chick he met fell for that guy. If Bolin is gonna be Sokka 2.0, I'm sure he'll get his share of girls, maybe even Korra, as the show goes on.

You know, I never really thought about it that way. Sokka's game was pretty tight.

Also, Korra meets Kiyoshi warriors (assuming they still exist) needs to happen. Like yesterday.

I'm sure they do, hell I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were working with Amon. Ty-Lee did teach them Chi Blocking and they do seem to wear the same colors.

Or it could just be that, like bending arts with benders, Chi Blocking started to become more widespread among non-benders once people like Ty-Lee got the word out on how it works.

We keep assuming Ty Lee was the only chi blocker in TLA and the Kyoshi Warriors were her first students. I can't imagine she was the only person to know it then, though it was obviously a lot rarer. Indeed, we still don't know how prevalent chi blockers are in Korra's time--all we know is Amon has a small platoon of them, we haven't seen much more than that.

There's no reason there weren't other experts besides Ty Lee, and the knowledge might have been gained form them.

Great episode. My only complaint is that EVERY bender gets chumped by the equalists. Taser/chi blocking or not that shit shouldn't be happening.
