I would except I've got no way to play it. I traded a Deftones - Around the Fur CD for Silent Hill on the PS back in 9th grade or something, but the disc was too scratched up and kept freezing.

Anyone got suggestions for PS emulators?

That's the best trade anyone has ever made. Even a broken copy of silent hill is better than a deftones cd.

Yeah, I wanted to buy the soundtrack for the movie, but I don't think one was ever released.

Thanks for that - I did a quick search before posting my previous comment and assumed that that album was an errant result of the search.

This is one of my favorite games, i really really hope that they don't stray to far from the games story line.

If memory serves me right (it's been quite a few years since I last played SH3), Harry changed his last name to "Morris" in order to hide Heather and protect her from the cult. If this movie is a straight sequel, that would explain why Sean Bean is credited as both Harry Mason and Chris De Silva, since it fits with the plot description about them being on the run. Can't wait to see this one, I really enjoyed the first.

    End of the 1st film;

    Spoiler: show
Didn't both the mother and daughter stay trapped in SH at the end of the 1st film? Been a while since I watched it, but I remember them walking around their own home but there was fog/mist everywhere like in SH. Meanwhile, Sean Bean was in the same house but not in the SH dimension.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happened. However...

    Spoiler: show
My theory is that they were trapped not in Silent Hill per se, but in Sharon's (the girl) "dream world" so to speak. She inherited Alessa's power (and possibly her personality) and, whether consciously or subconsciously, created an alternate reality where she could live happily and in peace along with her mother, just like Alessa had created the alternate reality version of Silent Hill to get revenge on the townsfolk for burning her alive. If this is the case then she could eventually "wake up" allowing them to return to our reality. That's what I believe anyway, for all I know the screenwriters could have an entirely different explanation and I'd just be talking outta my buttcrack.

On another note, I really hope they get Akira Yamaoka to work on the soundtrack again. I know he's no longer working for Konami or involved with the franchise, but IMHO it just wouldn't be Silent Hill without his unique style of music. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one who felt a shiver run down his spine when "You're Not Here" started playing during the first movie's credits.

I can't find the link to the article, but I read about a month back that the guy who does the music for the TV show Dexter is doing the music in SH Downpour, so maybe they'll get him to do the film too? I hope they use a mix of tracks from the 3rd game too though.

News has been slow since filming "ended" back in May. A new cast member has been added, Heather Marks as the role of Suki. There were a few set pics released recently that has at least one yummy spoiler. Also, a interview with Kit Harrington (Vincent Carter) was posted with little hype, http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/25260 .

I hope they don't do what they did in the first one and hand feed you the entire plot. The movie was great until then.

Only a few months ago I didn't know who Kit Harrington was, this is another plus for me. According to that interview it was purely coincidental he got cast alongside Sean Bean again.

Meh update from the director about the current timetable for the film.

There’s no actual news for you Silent Hill fans, I’m afraid. Editing continues. I delivered my first directors cut this past week, which will (hopefully) become the foundation for whatever the final cut is. Still needs lots of work and at this stage there are no effects (well, a few temps), temp score, no picture grading or corrections and just a basic pass at sound effects. It’s very hard to watch a film at this stage of its development because it a long way from a seamless watching experience with something to bounce you out of the story every few minutes. Still, I think we’ve got something good going on.
'No trailer or poster due any time soon I’m afraid. Because there’s no release date the distributors have no real interest in starting to build a buzz just yet. And from my own point of view – I’m just not ready to start showing anyone anything. Sorry''
