    Tanking

Finished off getting to 50 last night and wanted more input on my Soul build:

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1c...zrz.xzsthhk.xV

    Essentially using 3 macros:

    1:
    #show Disarming Counterblow
cast Paladin's reprisal -> disarm counter -> retal -> aggressive block -> lights decree -> lights hammer -> empowering strike

Have all of my shield block moves first, then some hate hammers, and empowering strike

    2:
cast concussion -> sweeping strike -> judgement -> lights decree

    Just an AoE macro

    3.
cast plague bringer -> soul sick -> infestation -> necro wounds

    Obvious reasons.

I have Q and V use for my shield bash and sergeants order pull.

Basically its just smashing 1 until 3 is up. AoE is AoE.

Nothing too complicated. But it essentially covers everything. No need to waste space with rotations when that rotation is built in to the macro

Also since the threat generated is staying the same, the AoE nerf is NOT a major issue.

Would you be so kind as to copy pasta the exactness of your macros, I would be mucho appreciative.

Yeah I'm a total noob with macros and I'd like to know how to setup a rotation style of macro

Basically when I tank I have 4 different macros I use

    AoE start :
cast Reaver ability making DoTs AoE (forgot the name)
    cast Soul Sickness
    cast Another DoT

    AoE in-fight :
    cast reactive AoE
cast AoE #1 (longest cooldown+instant aggro)
    cast AoE#2 (2nd longest cooldown)
cast AoE #3 (you can guess)

    Single target instant aggro
cast instant aggro #1 (longest cooldown)
    cast instant aggro #2 (guess...)

    Single target melee spam
    cast reactive #1 (longest CD)
    cast reactive #2 (short CD)
    cast no-GCD ability
    cast melee #1 (longest CD)
cast melee #2 (2nd longest CD)
    etc.

I keep my points that need attack points separated from macros, since I like to know what I'm using with my attack points in case there's a OH SHIT moment and I need a particular ability with 3 points stacked.

It's really really basic macros, nothing like FFXI. Just make some depending on what you're looking to do with it and test them out on normal mobs a few levels over you to test the rotation of skills, see if it does what was intended. I didn't put the skill names simply because I don't know them by heart yet, but if you have half a brain you should understand my post and replace them with the abilities you have.

    PLD:

    Spoiler: show

    1. #show basically shows the most important timer, like Soul Sicknes, because PB is always up when SS is ready.

    #show Paladin's Reprisal
    cast Paladin's Reprisal
    cast Disarming Counterblow
    cast Retaliation
    cast Aggressive Block
    cast Light's Decree
    cast Light's Hammer
    cast Empowering Strike

    2.

    #show Concussion
    cast Concussion
    cast Sweeping Strike
    cast Judgement
    cast Light's Decree

    3.

    #show Soul Sickness
    cast Plague Bringer
    cast Soul Sickness
    cast Infestation
    cast Necrotic Wounds

Basically what happens is, pull with shield throw, spam 1 to get your block up with aggressive block, when you block, reprisal procs first, then disarming, then retaliation. If you don't proc, Decree procs to draw AoE, then Hammer does the same for single target (or im backwards on that, i never know), and empowering strike is there when all else doesnt happen, which is decent since it builds armor.

The AOE macro literally is there in case shit pops, and you need it on you before they move to the casters.

Also, any feedback with the Reaver nerf appreciated. Ideally, Reaver sub spec isn't relied on for healing yourself, but really theres too many AoE threat generators to ignore it. Like putting points in to threat (15%) and spell reduction (9%).

thought you could only get one ability per macro for some reason.. or is it only one non-insta cast ability per macro?

Its only one cast ability. Like you can't do all of your buffs in one macro.

You can do all timer based attacks on a single macro. Anything with long cooldowns go first, then your one Global cool down attack (strongest) goes last

    Darn I see.
Well I fail to see the point in using macros at all with bard or saboteur then. Ill try to wrap my head around it abit more I guess maybe Ill figure something out.

Grisly works seems kind of useless unless your maybe holding a bunch of add's. I'm only 46 but i've been focusing more on mitigation and would have gone with just the increased damage reduction in the reaver tree insetad.

    thought I'd add it here.

add suppressmacrofailures at the end of the macro and you wont get the annoying red error-message all the time
