    Saber Dance Testing

    Here is some interesting testing data from pchan.

    And yeah, you have to expand it out. Does anyone want to replicate it or do the 0% DA THF/NIN control?

    Level 90 THF/WAR with Epona's/Atheling/AF3+2 head/Twilight belt/AF3 earring/Brutal would give 17% TA and 23% DA, I think. The problem would be getting your STR low enough to hit for 0 on Hpmedes

    Can anyone remember where the hell I posted my Saber Dance data? It's very disorganized on my harddrive, and I don't think I made a thread for it.

    Would BLU work? Our TA would be garbage, but we can achieve the same level of DA.

    You need to be able to get a fairly high % of two different kinds of multi-attacking and ~60-65 STR for this to work. It's going to be hard to test if OAT works this way, because there are no D1 OAT weapons.

    Anyone know how to make a script that'll use Saber Dance every 3 minutes for about 8-10 hours? It doesn't fall after 3 minutes, so I can't use "if BuffNotActive" or something.

    <var name="SaberDance">0</var>

    <if notBuffActive="Saber Dance" advanced='"$SaberDance"="0"'>
    <var Cmd="set SaberDance 1" />
    <command>input /ja "Saber Dance"; wait 180; sc var set ChangeComposure 0</command>
    </if>

    Test and see if it works!

    Okay. This is my current thing strategy:
    http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.htm...74314136927005

    Going to drop my STR merits right before they increase the cap ; ; ; ; but this is too interesting to not.

    Got the Spellcast stuff working. Just using a simple:
    <if Spell="Saber Dance">
    <command when="aftercast">wait 177;input /ja "Saber Dance"</command>
    </if>

    Doing the same thing for Presto, Reverse Flourish, and Steps. They're all multiples of 15 seconds, so if I time it right once it should hold up overnight (I'd hope). More frequently used JAs are more likely to drift, so I'll see if it works . . . but I bet it does!

    Why wait 177? Isn't it 3min?

    Also, check that guy's response. How did you plan on testing the level?

    I can just kill it to find out what the level was, and if I use 60 STR then I'm guaranteed to be fighting a 71 or 72, I think, so I'll know the DEX.

    I think it's 177 because it's Aftercast. I just did it experimentally and let it run for 15 minutes with nothing but Saber Dance and Presto. Never overlapped itself and -3 seconds for each JA was correct.

    I meant checking the level so you know prior, but I guess you're going with 60STR. Also, CS is wrong in that thread! 9% or less hit rate will affect DA's improvement value!

    Best bet try to ask someone who sells ragers/fugaberet/aceso's a lot, acerbic never sell so typically they get vended off instead.

    If you find a set for BLU Elvaan with +5STR to reach 60 STR, I'll do the test for you (With lame TA!).

    I kind of want to do the Saber Dance version of the test, so DNC onry!

    I've contacted several different groups that I know do WoE, and I know a friend has one of them already that he probably doesn't use (He's a melee/tank, idk why he even bought it). I'll have one tomorrow night, but I'm disappointed I can't set it up tonight >:/

    Well, I don't have an Acerbic Sash, but I have been getting this to work. I subbed WHM to lower my STR and do the control test.

    I'm waiting for my most recent 10 hour chunk to finish, but in the meantime, an interesting thing to note:
    You can either DA on Box step or it gets a minor hit rate boost of its own. (62.82% land rate on Box step +/- 1.37% vs. 58.57% Hit rate +/- 0.76%)

    If I remember right, Mojo found that hit rates can only take whole number values. It takes a long time to collect step data because I can only step once every 15 seconds, but I have about 5000 attempts recorded right now. I can't distinguish the two cases yet (DA vs. hit rate boost), but I'll either find out through box step land rate taking a non-integer value or through a higher DA% test.

    Yeaaaaah, so I have no idea how Saber Dance DA works. See the Alla thread for more details.

    /WHM, 0% DA:
    Saber Dance used every 3 minutes
    Saber Dance used every 5 minutes

    /WHM, 8% DA:
    Saber Dance used every 3 minutes - 1698/5585 - 30.38% +/- 1.2%
    Saber Dance used about every 6-7 minutes:

    The plateau betwee 51 and 300 seconds is 1005/3608 (27.85% +/- 1.46%) - I'm not sure why I chose 51, but I'm not going back and redoing it now. :D

    If I combine it with a parse that used Saber Dance on a 3 minute rotation:

    The plateau between 30 and 300 seconds is now - 2450/8669 - 28.26% +/-0.95%

    /WAR, 0% DA:
    Saber Dance used every 5 minutes - 1609/7679 - 20.96% +/- 0.91%

    My interpretation is that Saber Dance grants 50% Double Attack that decays off to 20% within the first 30 seconds, then stays steady at ~20% for the remainder of the duration. Also, Double Attack from trait does not appear to stack with it. Double Attack from gear does seem to stack with it.
