Stating the obvious, but the MP recovering should be innate and the AF should just bump it 5% or add 5 secs to the duration or something.
Pretty much this.
While they're at it, make it like Collusion and redirect hate generated by the person you're covering to the PLD. Doesn't have to be 100% so they can differentiate, but there needs to be some merit for keeping a melee close range at all times so a PLD can Cover other than for the sake of regaining MP.
That kinda makes it cover and collusion in one and better at collusion than collusion, would be a bit much.
random: why the fuck does the "exit airship dock" NPC dialogue default to "no" and why is there even a preceding dialogue you have to click through 1st.
Or Paladin could put a debuff on the mob so when he/she hits that target they get a %'age of their MP back, omg we just solved every problem with MP with the paladin class, just don't call it a judgement and it won't be stolen from WoW.
I think their decision for defaulting this on "no" was because entering the docks, speaking to this NPC, and accidentally choosing "yes" would be throwing up to 5,000 gil down the drain. Pretty much any option to spend money/make permanent decisions/dispose of anything/etc. should default on "no" in my opinion.
The original question was why the materia item conversion choice was right next to "repair" and defaulted on "yes." At least they fixed the latter recently.
You wold have to "accidentally" walk around the counter to the other side and talk to the NPC to do that.
If you do, then you deserve to lose your whopping 5k.
Not only is that a really unlikely scenario (why would you ever move all around the dock towards the exit after entering?), but even assuming it ever happened to anyone... the tickets are not used up until you actually take the airship, regardless of whether you leave the docks or not. You buy a ticket, leave, try to reenter the docks, and you won't be charged again because you still have a ticket.
The order for the choices is retarded.
You didn't walk around and talk to NPCs the first time you entered the docks? Hell, there's even a shop that can only be reached by entering.
I don't really know for sure, but isn't the "ticket" lost when you zone?
Regardless, the retarded choice is retarded because there are retarded people who would make a retarded mistake and lose some measley gil over which they would make a retarded post on the official forums to voice their retarded complaint. Preemptive.
If they did it for the reasons you're stating, the extra confirmation screens or weird choice orders would be on the NPCs that sell the tickets, not on the ones that let you exit. Seems like a clear oversight in this case and nobody should try to defend it.
Even if the ticket is lost when you zone or logout (which I don't know), the NPC that makes you "waste" money is the one that sells the ticket (the NPC you can actually smash enter through), not the one that lets you exit.
It's been there since 1.20 at least (that's when I personally noticed the message). It's possible it does go away after a bit, or that it disappears when you zone... but even in those cases, like I said, that's the wrong NPC to put the countermeasures on.
EDIT: I zoned, changed regions and did stuff for at least 30mins, and the ticket is still there.
Be careful, Izzy is fed up with this!
On the side of PLD AF, I tried cover last night... either im doing it wrong or the MP regen is horrible.
