So anyone with the monetary means of gifting this game to me feel like doing so ?
i can offer a copy of half-life 2 in return. I'd so buy it myself if i could >_<
maybe if your avatar was still jigglin.
Spoiler: show
sooooo why won't the merchant move in? I have plenty of money and extra rooms all set up, but I still can't seem to get him to show up. Any ideas?
also is there a relatively complete crafting list anywhere?
Mining in this game is so fucking addicting, btw
build your rooms out of stone bricks and stone walls. if you use dirt walls or no walls he won't show up
yea i have brick walls and wood back walls, I spent a few days waiting and he still wouldnt show up.
Finally I tried removing the table/chair and re-placing it and he popped up almost instantly, now I just gotta let him wander into his room which is taking a while lol
edit: also I just found a treasure chest with an Enchanted Boomerang inside, this thing is fucking amazing
Is there a use for mana?
Also, I didn't see anyone answer my previous question... Are there actual character levels or is it simply upgrades to health/mana/etc.?
Don't own it but from the Let's Play vids there are no levels, it's just upgrades to hearts and mana, stronger weapons/armor, etc.
You don't lose items when you die like minecraft, just money (you get money from defeating enemies, or in chests/urns you come across) which you can run back and pick up if you make it in time (it's a long time just like minecraft). You can find Crystal Hearts in dungeons, harvesting them with a hammer gives you an item you can use to permanently increase your max life by 1 heart.
Similarly, at night falling stars will land on open areas (they disappear at dawn), if you collect 10 of them you can craft an item to increase max mana. I am not exactly sure what mana is used for although I read something about a book that teaches you an ice spell or something.
If you are on the fence about this, get it. It's just as awesome as minecraft.
Edit: just to give you an idea how awesome this is, there was just a Blood Moon... which apparently lets zombies break down your doors and invade your house
Also there was an update for this apparently:

damn it i wanna play with you guys so bad >_< someone do my trade ! lol
There are no levels. Just HP, Mana, and equipment upgrades.
Mana is needed to use magical items. Examples being the Rocket Boots and the Aqua Scepter.
If you're having trouble with getting NPCs into a room, remember that rooms can't share walls. You can have 2 rooms next to each other but the wall/ceiling needs to be 2 blocks thick.
The sheer amount of available decorations and whatnot is scaring me away from even starting to make a pretty castle before getting gnarly deep.
I really wish save and quit didn't send you back to spawn
Is the game like Minecraft where multi is essentially single-player, but with friends on your map?
Will probably pick it up during a 50% sale in the future. Hopefully the visual style will be more consistent by that time as the sprites still feel way off compared to the tiles used for the map.
Ceilings definitely don't need to be 2 blocks thick. Haven't tried walls though. I'm pretty sure using platforms between two "homes" makes them a single one though, so just keep that in mind. I haven't tested it, but it was something I picked up on watching LPs prior to release.
Enjoying the hell out of it so far, but would there happen to be any way to resize the window in windowed mode? It's so tiny!
I want the 4 and a half minutes I just wasted watching the start of that
Played for a bit, took me awhile to figure out the basic which are pretty basic and made me feel like a moron once I did. So far pretty fun and can see it getting a lot better or worse, but from the sounds of it, the better.
