There seem to be a lot of viewers of these shows on BG (both hate and love) but no thread solely dedicated to them.

Stewart is an angry, angry man. His response to the First Responders Bill is amazingly angry. I have no idea how he manages to stay angry so much, so long.

Going to start this thread off on the wrong foot and say I enjoy Colbert more than I do Stewart. Although both are awesome if you go to the live tapings.

I love how fast they set up the Birth Certificate thing. When it comes to interviews, Jon Stewart is top notch, but I'd say I like both of the shows equally.

I can't honestly say I like one more than the other. They both have their strengths in their shows that they approach in a different matter, and I laugh my ass off at both. Stewart has classic moments like his Glenn Beck impersonation he did recently after the news broke he wasn't gonna be at FOX. And both of them trolling/shittalking the other news outlets is just priceless and necessary, and while I won't say John Stewart is my main source of current events, I do watch his show for his view on things since I agree and he at least will shit-talk both political sides of our government if warranted.

I can see why someone would say they prefer Colbert though out of the 2.

Haven't been a huge fan of Colbert recently.

More into Stewart's "you can't be serious with shit?" shtick compared to the overly sarcastic satire of Colbert.

I like both though.

And I love me some Bernie Sanders

Guess I'm in the minority in preferring Stewart. Colbert is too over the top for me, but whenever he cracks up in the middle of a bit always makes me happy.

I love both, but when I watch them I'm generally looking for comedy so I'd pick Colbert if I had to choose one. That isn't to say the Daily show isn't funny, because it is.

I like Colbert a lot more for his comedy shtick and I've liked him ever since Strangers With Candy and his voice acting on Harvey Birdman/Venture Bros. but it's no lie that Stewart is a little more "professional" at times, while Colbert will do joke news bits any chance he gets if it'll get a laugh (which they always do lol).

Pretty much the only news shows I watch though and both are just awesome either way.

I like Stewart more than Colbert because I like his interviews more. Except when he has a comedian buddy on, then they're not so great. Colbert is still really good, but sometimes some of his bits don't go very well. Word of the Day has been almost consistent failure since the greatness of truthiness.

Stewart does a comedy show, Colbert does a news show....they're two different things.

The only thing I hate about them is the weeks off every other week and it's always when shit hits the fan. So much missed opportunities.

I honestly don't care for Colbert, When Jon has a guest, they tend to actually talk to each other about the subject. Colbert is always interrupted and being a general biased prick during them.
