People think I said "leveling the old way made you a better player", which is actually true, you had more time to learn things, you ACTUALLY had to learn things, and your progress slowed if you were bad, badly geared, or a complete moron.

Bad players will always suck no matter what and good players will always be good no matter what.

You should have to level for like 2 weeks straight getting 5k/hour in onzozo to get a WHM past 70 imo, should be like a maat fight for mages(or whm's) only. Teach those healers how to -na instantly or die/gain 0 exp again.

So, good players will be good, bad players will be bad, but it is mandatory that healers have to learn how to heal in Onzozo despite it not mattering because good players will be good and bad players will be bad.

I'm done replying, you people are insulting me while also agreeing with the exact same things I said, LOL? I mean I can only say the same things so many times before I get bored of it, and now I am.

edit: Really I just feel bad for new players, they could be amazing and really good at video games and intelligent, but since they don't get the same learning experience or potential learning experience some other good players got, they end up dinging 90 with very little knowledge of how anything works, no matter how smart or dumb they are : ( Without forums, a helping hand, or some good friends, they'd have a hard time figuring out things on their own.

As much as all the new changes and patches have been aimed for getting new players, it really fails at teaching them the basic fundamentals of the game at all. They're expected to learn all grouping mechanics and how things work at the level cap, oh well, this has been the new MMO design since 2004 when WOW released.

tldr: Bad players will always suck no matter what and good players will always be good no matter what.

I think this is a legitimate problem with abby burning for some people. Do you ever get buffs anymore? Would the mages be taking a knee if there were no atmas? Where would our blm be without manawall? I've been disgusted by all the bandwagon blu I've seen lately, especially when it comes to mp management. I'm not saying I am a top tier player, or anything of the sort, but when the taru runs out of mp and does less dmg than my mithra, there seems to be a problem.

I agree that players suck, but we seem to be confusing the metaphysical question of "why do players suck?" with the more real question of "does Abyssea contribute to players sucking?" The answer to the first one is long-winded and technical, while the answer to the second one is "not really." No offense to BLUs, but the average BLU was a steaming pile of shit before Abyssea too.

I totally agree with seeing crappy blus before abbysea. Its the only job I put real effort into, and it pisses me off to no end that it has become another bandwagon job. Even more so when all the people who told me "to level a real job", are running around on it now. And don't get me started on seeing so many of them in AF hands when they are not spell hunting (and you know they're not. If its not a proc, they don't have it. Except for bludgeon. Always see bludgeon, even at 90)

Yeaaaah, there are soooo many bad BLUs. If it makes you feel any better, DNC is exactly the same way. I remember at 75 one of the only DNCs I knew full-timed a mix of AF1 and AF2 and used the prettiest daggers she could find.

I can't remember the last time I've run into a Corsair in-game that wasn't wearing either full AF, full NQ AF3, or a Trump Gun with Bronze Bullets. Sometimes I even see a combination of the 3. It's pretty incredible.
