Goddamn I love Gintama. How did it take me so long to watch this?
Goddamn I love Gintama. How did it take me so long to watch this?
Welcome to the group of enlightened anime fans. Gintama has been a favourite of mine for ages and while the TV series is over (looks like 100% over at this point, as opposed to a chance of maybe another season or two down the line), there is a NEW MOVIE THAT WILL BE COMING OUT SOON!!!!
The first movie was amazing even though it was just a retelling of one of the earlier TV show arcs. The best scene in the movie hands down would be this one:
Good music (not normally a big fan of the JP music), great fight choreography and animation, great dialogue, and hilarious Katsura laugh at the end, lol.
And then the TV show brings you gems like this:
Over 200 episodes of that kinda stuff. Amazing, not to mention all the tear jerker, heart wrenching, catch you when you least expect it moments
Yeah, over 200 episodes and not once have I been bored watching this anime. Gintoki has the worst luck with his balls/dick and yeah, surprisingly heartwrenching and sad (I understand what people meant when they recommended it as a sad anime).

Well, no deal inked yet, but this is only getting better now. First Gundam's future in North America was more or less reassured; now the licenses BEI had gotten from its Japanese parent will probably be saved. Funimation has an inroad with Toonami - a relationship I suspect would be alluring to NBH (who owns Sunrise, Bandai, etc.) should they seek to get some stuff on-air.Animation studio Sunrise producer Masayuki Ozaki revealed at his company's panel at Anime Boston on Saturday that the company is in talks to with Sentai Filmworks and Funimation to distribute former Bandai Entertainment titles. Ozaki noted that Sunrise will release some of its series through distributors such as these. Any possible deals are currently in the works, so further details are not yet available.
Sunrise would like to release titles with Sentai and Funimation as distributors, similar to the current deal in place for Mobile Suit Gundam UC through Right Stuf.
Bentendo oVee episode was hilarious
Does anyone know if there's a subbed release of Shin Taketori Monogatari 1000 nen Joou (Queen Millennia)? I can't find anything anywhere...
I think Live-evil is subbing it.
They only released like 11-12 episodes some years ago :/
Guess I'll never be able to see it again...
There's a movie version or something that's subbed via two groups.

But you're shit out of luck for the anime. Time to learn moon.
my anime tracker is doing sitewide freeleech atm, any recommendations of things I should grab?
love Berserk, watching Attack on Titan and Gargantia now, watching Steins;Gate with my brother at the moment, already have Robotics;Notes but haven't watched it. Enjoyed FMA/Brotherhood, got bored keeping up with bleach/naruto/one piece. watched a couple episodes of Hataraku Maou-sama, which is kind of dumb, but amusing enough. some others like GitS, Elfen Lied, MoHS, other stuff too but nothing really springs to mind. not a huge fan of like 'slice of life' or school set shows unless there's some sort of serialized plot to it, idk
Psycho-Pass was the standout from last season imo.
Quick things from recent seasons.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Magi, Panty and Stocking, Persona 4, Fate Zero and seconding Psycho-Pass, Sakamichi no Apollon (I know you said you didn't really like school-setting, but it's really good), Black Lagoon and/or Jormungand, Darker than Black, Hellsing Ultimate and Tiger and Bunny.
thanks for those, also if it helps, comedywise I enjoyed GTO
Welcome to NHK is pretty hilarious if you like GTO.
Might want to try Gunbuster, Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, Slam Dunk, Utena, Trigun, Broken Blade, Kara no Kyoukai, Slayers (the first 3, don't touch the 2 new ones), Initial D, Satoshi Kon's Movies are very good too, Record of Lodoss War, Mushishi... and that's it on top of my head, some of them are older stuff but I like most of the 80-90's stuff better than most of the newer stuff they air nowadays...
I'll post more if I remember/you're interested.
Also Space Battleship Yamato 2199 (many of Leiji's Work is worth a download IMO moreso if you enjoy space stuff) and Gundam Unicorn are good, but they're still ongoing, Yamato's at episode 18/26 and Unicorn 5/6, they release very very slowly though, but definitely worth it.
