Aw shit yeah. So glad I caught up on all of it. No regrets. None.
Necro bump but it's appropriate.
Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in A Dungeon is awesome
Watching Samurai Flamenco and I love it. I don't remember it being too hyped while it was airing, but holy crap I love it.
Samurai Flamenco had a good following, I think it forked at episode ~8 where people were like "fuck this I'm out" or "omg best animu eber".
I can google it but cant find it on my usual suspect streaming sites. Any other names for it?
Yep I'm the former...
It really lost it on me. Be interested to see which path Sath takes. I bank he'll go on the latter path.
Nope this is the only name. I think due to the "fork" reason might be why it's not available for streaming, possibly.I can google it but cant find it on my usual suspect streaming sites. Any other names for it?

It's on Netflix too
Unrelated: I saw that the "Daily Lives of Highschool Boys" had a live-action movie. I watched it on kissasian.com (which is related to kissanime.com which also has a kisscartoon.me for American stuff, all super handy for HD videos).
Anyway, was a mistake. While it had some moments where it matched the anime and were pretty funny, ultimately it changed so much in order to be more movie friendly that it ended up just being an awful watch. They tried to get a tone for the boys and girls in the movie similar to the anime, but instead of picking the fun, extreme tropes that made the anime characters so enjoyable (like the guys having an extreme sense of camaraderie or the girls being blissfully oblivious about things), they picked the tropes that made the boys shy and timid and the girls bitchy and crude. Was a big let-down.
There was also an Usagi Drop movie too (it stays pre-time skip thankfully) which was okay. It had it's moments but overall wasn't anything spectacular. And they're doing live-action Bakuman and Chihayafuru... so we'll see how those turn out. I'm not gonna get my hopes up considering how much I really enjoy those animes/mangas.
Besides Battle Royale/Death Note (both series I'm not interested in but from what I understood was done pretty well) is there any other anime which translated well into live action?
So far on my "to do list" of Live Action anime I've got:
Yankee-kun to Megane-Chan (eps are 1 hour each and I'm having trouble keeping attention)
Gokusen (finished manga, anime, trying to work on the live action, 3 seasons worth)
Cromartie High School (the manga and anime were hilarious... the live action is a movie only)
Ranma 1/2 (first half of movie was rather faithful to the anime, then it branched off to a little plot to close up the movie)
Can't think of anything else at the moment.
Oh, Attack On Titan, but I've not seen that yet either...
GTO
Nodame Cantabile
not anime but Densha Otoko.
Ohh GTO had a live action? Adding it to my "to do"
I got the manga ready to go; but currently reading Claymore so can't commit to it. Just googled Nodame, not my cup of tea. Don't like musicals/musics.
It was back and forth tbh. I loved it so much and then like EP8 happened and I couldn't quite figure out if serious or not...and then it just kept going and I was like but then it kept going even more and it won me back over. There's a stretch in like EP 8-10 where you're like "...really? .....REALLY?" but if you change your perspective and don't view it through the same lens you viewed the first half of the show through it's still pretty awesome.
I have like 6 EP left and I'm genuinely curious just how far down the rabbit hole this is going to go, but I like it.
Attack on Titan live action is like 98% terrible. Avoid.
The Hentai Kamen live-action movie is hilarious as fuck.
