Is R&D for the RG line bad and thats why we get like three of them a year?

Why do they keep popping out RGs for all the MGs that I get? D:

In fact, the last 3 RGs have been of models that I have either MG or HG of. The 2 MGs are the exact same model, the HG is different but same gundam. And I only own 5 non RG models x.x

I'm just upset that its one of maybe three were going to get all year and the Astray Red Frame already has an PG and MG. And despite all my complaining I'll almost certainly be preordering it. I'm kinda curious to see if it will surpass the PG like most of RGs that have PG counterparts. The Red Frame PG is still relatively new compared to say the Wing Zero and the OO Raiser was a pretty bad kit from what I've heard.

So my Idea to buy 1/144 stands in bulk and save them for when I need them has paid off. The RG 00 Raiser has balance issues when fully docked. There not as bad as SEED RGs but it takes effort to get the thing to stand on its own without a stand.

For modern kits there's just the HGUC Zaku Mariner from ZZ. The one that appeared in Unicorn was just a more muted version of the original color scheme anyway.

If you wanted to kitbash or whatever, there's the old Zaku Marine and Marine Hizack (the latter actually having the watertight seals on the elbows that the original Zaku Marine kit lacked). There's also an old Zaku Mariner.

Your options for conversions of the Zaku II 2.0 MG are (arguably) better if you have a lot of money/are willing to work with recasted B-Club kits of the Zaku Marine/Marine Hizack, and Zaku Mariner. There was also a conversion kit for the old Zaku II 1.0 MG that made it possible to recreate the MSM-02 Aqua Experiment Type.

There hasn't been a single official kit of an aquatic Federation MS, ever. The old B-Club conversion kit of the GM Command (G and GS)/Cold Districts-type (D) for the 1/100 GM Kai (C from 0083), with some fairly extensive remodelling work could be made to replicate the Aqua GM (principally the updated/Unicorn art) though. I guess that same logic applies to the HGUC kits of the D-G-GS too.

There have been full resin kits (in both 1/144 and 1/100) of the Waterproof Gundam; most recently at C3 Hobby... in 2011 or 2012 I think. It was a pretty good sculpt as I recall, if you can find an original one (or a recast..). It's been years, but as I recall regarding the 1/100 kit it was actually a really extensive reworking of an old, mid-2000s kit that really tried to match the updated appearance of the Waterproof Gundam in the Unicorn Ace manga (relating to the Zee Zulu pilots from Ep. 4). It may have also included limited posability via Kotobukiya's polycaps.

I guess I'll just settle w/ the Zaku Mariner then. Also any of you guys have any of the koto SRW kits? The ones with the giant dragonslayer swords has me interested in them. Dalong has the usual stuff but curious from anyone on here.
