Not really sure if firing one coach for offensive struggles and then hiring a guy responsible for what was roughly the worst power play ever seen in the history of hockey despite having a really, really good handful of players to form it out of, but eh.

Power of the internet. A buddy was shown setting one of the first cars on fire turned himself in yesterday. He's currently being charged with 4 counts. Most of his friends support him. An idiotic move no doubt, but many were glad to see he turned himself in. I'm predicting he'll be used as a scapegoat. A tuxedo shop had all of its inventory stolen. Three idiots took pictures and posted it on facebook with comments "Free suits courtesy of 2011 riot." They quickly got IDed by the internet detectives.



We'll see how long people support the VPD before they start turning super violent. Vancouver has yearly fire works which brings a million people to the down town core. 4 days during the summer 4 nations come and have a 20ish min firework show. I expect to see a lot more police. The police did a great job considering they were out numbered. However I have to question why the riot was going on for so long. It took them close to 5hrs to settle things down. Mayor of Vancouver has some answers as to why more officers weren't at the downtown core during the final game.

Apparently a lot of the people causing the most mayhem were not from Vancouver itself, which is not surprising.

Rags not being able to buy out Drury is funny, but kind of sad. Would have been a win/win for him to get to play somewhere else I think. It also hurts the Rags a lot since they already have Redden fucking their cap in the butt.

I just remember last year at game 4 there was like, 2+ buses full of Canuck fans and a large portion of them was going on about how Vancouver was so much better because Canada had just won a gold medal and just be like "im pretty sure that has nothing to do with this series" Just funny because then they would go on about how LA sucks and all their players suck and was like "You do realize Doughty was on that Canada team and was a large part of it right?"
