A raid just happened right after I got to the main city; a bit of lag, but generally ok except for getting one shotted constantly at LV 11 haha.

Am I crazy or does this game feel way too similar to Aion though? The crafting system is virtually plagiarized.

Got that feeling as well, and the games are very similar aside from the combat. The gathering-system struck me as a copy-paste too, even the animations are the same. Aion is very popular in Korea, so I guess they wanted a safe route.

Edit: Apply default settings seemed to fix the issue.

EME has officially announced today the hiring of Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galatica) to do the voice for Samael and Claudia Black (SG1,Farscape) to do the voice of Freya.

They have also made a new Intro for TERA.



Sounds like EME is getting serious on changing the voice overs and cut scenes.

I was incredibly impressed at the stress test event and how the graphics are handled on my system. Hundreds of people and monsters around and most of the models didn't load, but enough that I could participate, albeit with choppy fps, but it did not freeze ONCE. I have Aion on low/med settings and just looking at someone the wrong way will freeze my fps sometimes, not to mention multitasking is impossible. I even lag in WoW noticeably on medium/low settings in 25man and have to turn off view distance and graphic detail; so by all expectations I should have crashed simply by walking in viewing distance of this disaster but I even tabbed out and everything was still about as smooth as one could hope for in this kind of situation. The mere thought of how much Aion makes me lag for no reason is like rage-inducing now.

My friends and I tried it out @ start but didn't give it more than maybe 10 min before we said "meh, later" It was standard lag, mobs dying by people we couldn't see etc. I wanted to see how the event built up, there is so much space outside the main city I hope they spread out mobs more to avoid this.

Really like the idea though and want to participate during retail. Just tonight we opted or other stuff.

Every single part of that event was made of win and awesome.

I kept my graphics all the way up til about 1/3 of the way through our war with CK. Then I dropped them all to 1/min settings and was able to get fairly good fps again. Bam's and pk guilds and GVG with ck...OH MY. It was insanity in a can and I loved every second of it.

It is so much faster once you do the 1-11 run once. I've almost gotten to 11 in about an hour and a half this time on Sorc.

Slayer seems incredibly boring to me. I was trying to find a job that was a balance between auto-attack zzz and RDM/NIN solo in FFXI and it's just pretty repetitive at low levels. Sorc seems easy but a bit more interesting with some of the CC available.

You'll use a lot more moves, as sorcerer, as it's not a class that just lets you mash the combo button. As I use a controller, it's hard to map all of the skills I could use at a given time, but it's a blast none the less.

Anyone else see a GM running around during the BAM event yet?

Last night I saw one of the fiery horse mounts running around, but couldn't see the person on it. I pointed it out and I think Avarice managed to inspect him and said he was in full lv58 gear. I tried to take a screenshot in the middle of the mess, but a BAM stepped infront of my screen right as I hit screenshot and I couldn't find him again.

I'm reminded of the FFXI GM that appeared during a Nidhogg and stood right infront of him and died to breath. Not that the TERA GM died.. just reminded of that day in FFXI.

I kind of wish I could play FFXI again just to see how much more I could tweak the game to look better with this new video card compared to what I had when I played. >>;
