So effectively the same story as the GW2 chest RNG. How much do these bags cost? If it's as ridiculous as the rest of the TERA cash shop stuff I can see why people would be upset.
It's $5 for 2 bags or $10 for 5 bags. While RNG for Vanity items is a lowblow, I'm more concerned about the slippery slope of selling actual ingame & tradeable items (aside from chronoscrolls which are a decent compromise)
It's just like chronoscrolls but with vanity items now too.
EDIT: I'm the tard buying that shit too. Just broke up with gf so I got the income. HIGH ELF TITTIES MAN
The rng gym bags really are bullshit if you just want to straight up buy a vanity costume and be done with it. Same statistical outliers exist just like enchanting/mwing; at how many bags would one have to purchase and receive none of the rng outfits, give up and purchase of broker, equip, then unsub out of disgust and frustration? I couldn't care less about the gym outfits, but if some future item popped in an rng bag and someone I commissioned to get it for me came up empty handed, I'd be annoyed.
The items that come ot of the bags/ boe vanity doesn't bother me; its not p2w, just in house controlled gold selling with rates set by the players. If it keeps the content being developed faster than without, then by all means. The accessory rerolling scrolls I imagine will be showing up sometime. Ktera has them, players here want them, but past that will be a fine line to p2w.
Some people gamble away the world on hopes. The Star Wars guys gambled away $130 on deluxe editions, hoping that the game would last for years and years.
Granted, I'm not comparing the two. TERA is an infinitely superior product.

Time will tell if the next RNG box that appears in ktera is changed for NA.
Offering rng bags + costumes straight up might be the most likely though.
send me $100, I'll get you a ingame costume of your choice
anything with rng, usually means your going to get fucked, one way or another O_o
I didn't go into it expecting gym clothes falling from the sky; I went into it expecting to get at least one from the ten bags I initially bought ($20). I didn't think I'd end up having to go through FIFTY BAGS before seeing my first one on the tail end of them. You may see things one way, I see them another; and so do a lot of people for that matter. http://tera-forums.enmasse.com/forum...-RNG-Cash-shop
I went through it thinking I got 5 costumes per gym bag... Reading comprehension for the win on my part... I know I wouldn't have bothered if I spent the time to read that they were "Chance Items." Live and learn I guess lol
You guys were paying attention with the Halloween Treat Bags right?
Spoiler: show
The 3 masks were the only things exclusive to the Halloween Treat Bags (mount could at least be bought separately). No one gave a shit of course cause those things were butt ugly but yeah, we all should have seen this coming.
