Maybe their equipment isn't as good, so it has a lower upper limit on channels and therefor a higher threshold to activate a new channel? Also could just be that they've set a lower threshold for a reason other than equipment limitations.

Going back to the topic on pings, here's the IP of the pvp server for frogster. It should help with testing out your expected latency:
79.110.94.212
Do tell if it's any decent!
Getting a ping of 38-42 through cmd using that IP address, a lot better than the 120-180 from US servers (although I can't ping those)
Getting 120ms average to Frogster's server from Ontario, Canada
128ms average from kingsport TN
not too bad for NA
184ms from benicia california
131ms from Miami, FL. Pretti good.
45 ms here . Wish i get a beta key soon
Yup, seems their servers are solid. I have no idea what's causing the regular lag spikes but I'm gonna go on a limb here and say it's not their network. You guys with 120~ms could actualy play in EU! ... not that you'd want to ._.;
I am not looking forward to all the bitching on NA servers next week when they look like this EU one lol. Just got pk'd for the first time, damn you battle run speed!
109ms to EU from New York. I actually been playing on NA and EU servers and for some reason the EU servers seem a bit faster. Makes playing on Warrior a lot of fun.

You could only wish your connection to Europe was this bad!

Nah, I'm in NA; I'm just playing in the EU beta as well cause I've got Tera syndrome.

An interesting little bit found in there:
Wonder what happened.Additional information:
Please note that following technical issues that occurred during the last test beta phase in North America, the latest patch won’t be applied on our game client for this second closed beta phase. The client version used for this test phase is the one used for CBT 1 with additional language files.
So, is anyone on this board going to actually play on the EU servers? Haven't kept up to date with what's going on here but all the talk is in the general/NA threads and I have no idea if anyone is even interested in EU still.
Just wondering if I'm going to have to put a random PvE server to play on at launch (thinking of joining a guild I saw on reddit for pvp servers)
There may be a small handful who'll play on the EU servers, but for the most part, no one wants to deal with Frogster; I have a lot of non-BG friends who plan to play TERA and live outside of North America, but will be using the NA servers anyway.
Yeah, I'm very tempted to but dunno if I will because of latency/timezones
