forgot to quote.
"The drake owned my ass when I ran into him. I'm lvl 34 or 35. When should I expect to be able to take him?"
If you go magic archer, the multi hit thing that locks in on targets is innate ice magic attack as well. Should help quite a bit. I know it did when i first ran into him at 35. Generally hes not stupid easy until 55+, but 40 should be fine if you are careful and dont get too aggresive
i'd say the name but i havent played DD in like 6 months tbh.
Threefold/Sixfold Bolt
Thought that was Seeker Bolt. Briefly tried Magick Archer yesterday, seemed fun but didnt seem for me because I've been raising strength, not magick. Everything was so weak.
Also shit, just switched to Warrior to get augments for my Assassin. My love of tossing enemies around with giant swords is getting to me >_< Maybe I'll just swap between the 2 vocations every now and then since they mostly need similar augments. Although the lack of versatility and being limited to 3 skills might get to me.
I beat the forest drake the first time I faced him but I also was an archer around level 40. Still one of the most epic fights I experienced when I first did it because I couldn't fuck up if I didn't wanna die.
I've been giving Mystic Knight a try lately. Shit's pretty fun, but is it meant to tank, or to hang back and shoot my little magic turret? I haven't upgraded it yet but I've seen what it can do WHEN it is. So far I've got a team of 2 Rangers, myself and a Sorcerer and we're Griffin hunting.
Its meant to do whatever the fuck you want. (Its that good)
Sitting back and shooting the so-called magical turret is pretty damned effective though.
A couple cheesy things for those having trouble:
Anything and everything in the game can be cheesily killed with Blast Arrows. Seriously. I don't like to use them until I'm farming because it almost kills the fun. When I farm Lv3 weapons / armor in BBI now I just run straight for the boss with like 80 Blast Arrows and he never gets a move off (saves soooo much times but is hell on your RC)
A super cheesy way to level that I did a bit (just because I was anxious to get Assassin high enough) is at post game when you can do everfall go to noble's quarters and aggro the guards then run to the pawn guild. Higher level guards spawn that are super easy and can be easily killed. Hire 2 fighter / warrior pawns and go to sleep, don't pause the game. ~700 xp a kill and they will spawn and aggro infinitely and your pawns kill them in a few hits. If you have any of the auto-regen gear from BBI it's even better.
Other stuff: I played through the entire game the first time as WAR with long sword, lol. I honestly don't know how I did it, I really, really don't. Been playing Assassin since then (since about lv40) and I just went to screw around with some of the gear / weapons I've gotten (Ox helmet / Immortal crap / cool weapons all gold DF just because) and died to a second stratum boss 7 times when it normally takes me 30 seconds to kill him LOL. The job is SO slow!
I haven't played MA / MK / RNG / Strider / Mage at all yet. I have my main pawn as Sorcerer and nobody hires him even though he's got a fantastic setup for BBI / everfallIf anyone needs a good Sorc setup as Utilitarian / Challenger you should hire mine
Main character is Valkyris pawn name is Sath. I think my PSN id is usukanearmor or usukane armor. Don't remember if spaces or not.
I really need some tips if anyone has them on farming Death on BBI. I know of the infinite spawn trick in Garden of Ignominy, and it worked for my first kill, but now it won't work anymore. He just appears wherever he wants whenever he wants (while I was doing the room with 2 prisoner gorecyclopeses...) and the trick no longer worksI really need some bone lanterns.
Edit: Oh also, I have about 50,000,000 gold and absolutely nothing to spend it on. So if anyone needs like a bunch of portercrystals or ferrystones or what have you just let me know. Can give me your PSN id and I'll hire your pawn and give them to them. I've never done it before but it can't be that complicated, lol.
Should I be trying to prove this Fournival guy innocent or guilty? I know he has rare shit in his shop so it sounds like its good to save him. Any reasons to prove him guilty?
Reasons to prove guilty: It's the lazy choice and requires no work.
Reasons to prove innocent: Cheap ferry stones, maker's finger, conqueror's periapts. I did innocent on first go and guilty on second (out of laziness). Wished I did innocent again because maker's fingers are real nice for really annoying things (living armors...)
Oh, also, if you let him get found guilty his whorebrat daughter gets sent to live in the slums LOL. You can buy her house back later for 100k if you feel like it, but she's annoying. Just make sure you're nice to her long enough to get the gold idol from her for the shop quests.
Sath, you can buy the Finger arrow things from Fournival. That would dissolve some of your money too. one of those arrows take like a full bar off it.
and Tyrath, There's not really any reason to let him be proven guilty. If he's proven guilty, you lose fournival for the rest of the game and only gain some affinity from some stupid palace npc dude. Whereas if you prove him innocent, you wont get any extra rewards, but he'll stick around so you can buy stuff from him.
See above
I'm boned unless I decide to do a third playthrough which won't happen for a while. I just use blast arrows, that's fine enough on stuff I like to farm. But honestly, I would blow 50 mil on maker's fingers just to never have to deal with living armors after they go spirit on you ever again. Right now I go as Assassin + 2x Sorc + Mage primarily for shit like living armors and they're STILL annoying.
I always save good ol' Forni.
Magnanimous Cloaks are the best thing ever.
I'm gonna prove him innocent then.
Another question. Which shop should I give the Gold Idol to and which Silver Idol to? My character is primarily Assassin and my pawn Fighter. Not sure which shop will have the best upgrade with Gold item for me.
Oh yeah I just looked them up. My characters are all chicks and Madelaine looks like shes got good shit for Assassins. I'll probably give her gold and silver to Claxton.
And Idols don't seem to affect Claxton's armors.
