So if I made a paypal account, how can I do this crysta bullshit?

Add Crysta -> select Amount -> select UltimatePay. It then brings up a new screen directing you to Paypal.
They specifically said the update is going to be September or later unless I'm reading this wrong.
The bonus item will be distributed in a version update scheduled for September or later.

So in a nutshell: The FAQ saying that credit / debit cards NOT using 3-D secure have to go through C&B is nothing but poorly worded and confusion spreading and instead everyone (everyone not buying Crysta) has to go through C&B?
...Or is there still hope on avoiding C&B and Crysta?
Does this mean I can't go and bypass the 3D secure bullshit with my ps3 anymore?
I think you'd put it in your paypal account's name. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I think for my second account I'll be able to add Crysta to cover the XI costs, while my friend uses her CC to pay for 14 (when it gets to that state). But as Paypal it separate to all this Click and Buy and SE account nonsense, it shouldn't matter who the Paypal account belongs to.
That's... actually not what most of the posts I'm reading seem to say.
C&B is one of the ways to buy Crysta (there are others), but it sounds like it can also be used to pay for the game directly, bypassing the Crysta system, and is the only method of doing so.
If I can use a 3-D secure card to directly buy Crysta (without having to use C&B, PayPal, or some other 3rd party), that would be much better, but that doesn't seem to be the case from what I can tell.
If I could use a 3-D secure card to directly pay for the game, bypassing BOTH Crystal and 3rd-party things, that would be ideal, and equivalent to what we can do now.
You can use a 3-D card to pay still after this month. Currently, you can use whatever the fuck card you want because you can bypass the 3-D secure bullshit by registering your payment info using a ps2/3 or xbox. I don't feel like going out and getting new fucking credit cards just to play this game and I sure as hell am not prepaying for Crysta in order to pay for a game. Shit's ridiculous.
Hopefully some loophole will still exist that I can just use my normal credit cards.
* Payment Methods:
Square Enix Crysta (http://www.square-enix.com/na/account/crysta/), debit cards, and credit cards will be viable payment methods after ID transfer. Debit and credit cards must support personal authentication services (such as 3D Secure) in order to be used.
This look right to me, too. I initially hoped I could just directly buy Crysta through my CC (well, I really hoped I could just pay directly, but admitting to such optimism makes me look silly, so we'll gloss over it), but no; once you select Crysta, you then have to pick another option to buy the Crysta. Hoops within hoops.
I Don't know how the Crystals Section Works!
But my Credit card is 3d secure, But i still have to sign up for C&B! Thought i Don't know if there a section to change from C&B to directly pay Since that seems to be what SE is saying(true or False Idk), Sadly C&B seems to terriable choice on SE behalf since it seem to lack Address of certain Countrys(South Africa) In this instance, And can't sign up with it due this reason!
I don't see what's so hard about this. It helps to understand that you can have different payment options for each service account and those options are chosen at the service account level, not the SE account level, e.g. someone with two POLIDs on an account could have one charged directly through Click and Buy and pay the other via Crysta.
Verified/3-D Secure credit/debit cards can be used through Click and Buy. This will charge your game services directly to the card. To pay by debit/credit card choose it under your services/options. To maintain this option you use the Register/Update Payment Method section.
OR
You can buy Square Enix Crysta through a myriad of sources, again using debit/credit cards through Click and Buy, or through UltimatePay which offers region-specific payment options. It offers PayPal and Ultimate Game Card as options in the United States. In this case you are buying Crysta as an intermediary currency to pay for game services. You are stuck buying standard denominations of Crysta rather than billing the exact amount, but in exchange you have a much larger variety of payment options available. To pay by Crysta choose it under your services/options. To maintain this option you use the Add Crysta section.
Since there are a lot of questions let me say this is how it's set up.
If you want to directly pay by CC you have to go through click and buy
If you want to buy crysta you can either pay by CC THOUGH click and by OR through paypal OR through a gamecard.
Basically the ONLY way to "pay" by CC without click and buy you have to set up the CC through paypal, then buy crysta with paypal.
And if you can I would strongly recommend not using click and buy. They are shady. They have terrible customer service. My CC company won't even let click and buy charge their cards which is enough sign for me to stay the fuck away. Also, as others said, if you read the click and buy terms of survice there is a surcharge every time you use it. (I forget the %)
Shit.
Is.
Stupid.
Again, no one has been able to confirm that for me yet. I really hope this is true. But every post I am seeing seems to indicate that there is no longer ANY way to pay directly, even with a 3-D secure card, without going through a shady 3rd-party, like C&B.
Oh, I completely agree with the 3-D secure thing being ridiculous. It was ridiculous, and met with numerous complaints, when they first went that route a year ago (or whenever it was). The only reason it didn't totally blow up on them then is because people found a way to circumvent it using PS2/Xbox, etc. And I totally understand how the people that used to be able to circumvent it are getting fucked now, so I feel for you.
But, for me at least, I (luckily) actually do have a CC that has the 3-D feature. But (again, from what I can tell) even with that, I still need to either: A) use some kinda of super-sketchy 3rd-party thing (i.e. C&B) to pay for the game, or B) buy into their Crysta system, and STILL have to use a 3rd-party, but at least have options other than C&B.
I really wish I had my token here so I could just investigate the options for myself...
^
I just transferred my 3rd account to test this out. If you want to use a credit card directly, you have to use Click&Buy and pay an extra 3% for every month for their service fee. If you buy Crysta, you can use other payment methods, the least painful of which is PayPal. I am currently trying to verify a new PayPal account in my husband's name to possibly use our Korean credit card, if that doesn't work I'll have to go back to using my US credit card... I'll have to buy Crysta every other month, since I have 3 accounts which cost about $20 each...
SE is giving us more and more reasons to quit... My husband is getting increasingly irate at all the hoops I have to jump through for us to play this game, 1 more thing and I think he'll insist we quit for good >.>
I bet this whole billing change is so they can lay off the entire billing department back at SE.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm out.
Hope it was worth 3 characters and several mules SE. What a worthless company.
Enjoy your lives.
