All the unlockable stuff that used to be in quest mode is now dlc. Theres arcade mode and score attack, and some challenges to beat. Otherwise offline is pretty slim.

And to counter Viq, for the most part online play seems pretty solid. I'd say at least 75% of my matches are very playable, but you're still getting minor hiccups here and there. Of course in a game where 7 frames vs 8 frames can mean getting your face raped, that can really matter.

For people fresh to the game, if you go online, get a vice grip on your low jab. ALOT of spammers for day 1. Any character with a neutral punch parry is in the money right now too (Jacky and Vanessa)

I'm fully willing to admit that I only played a handful of games online. There's the distinct possibility I just got unlucky with who I matched up with, and the online play could very well be better than what I experienced this evening.

God fucking damn this game is squeaky clean visually, was expecting it to look a little worse given the core game was released back in 2006, but nope. Lion's VA sounds just as horrible as usual, which I'm pleased with. For a dry run I almost beat Dural on normal. Feels like they toned her down a bit as I never got remotely close to beating her in VF4:EVO.

Contemplating getting the DLC packs since PS+ gave me the game free. $24 for the entirety of the DLC via the two bundles w/ PS+ subscription.

Anyone know if there's a list of the changes going from 5 on consoles to now? At least half of my losses are because of trying to punish moves that should be punishable, but had their frame data changed somewhere.

http://www.virtuafighter.com has updated move lists and frame data. You probably won't find a vanilla -> FS change list though. There were two other versions in between, so you're more likely to find VF5R -> FS changes if looking for change lists specifically. Alternatively, training mode will tell you the start-up, damage and advantage/disadvantage of any move in the game.

The amount of data this game puts out is absolutely sickening. Sega did a great job with that.

VFDC seems alarmingly thin in overall information for Final Showdown. I realize it's just now coming out on consoles but I had expected more to be out there after how much I used that site in the VF 4/Evo/VF 5 days.

Game feels great. Going to be rusty as fuck since I haven't played a Virtual Fighter game in a long time.

Just to get back to this, I played about 30 more matches online. While it's not terrible, even the best connections felt about 2-3 frames off. To some people that's perfectly fine. To me that's unplayable. Fortunately I've got people to play offline, so no reason for me to ever go online with this game again.
