It wasn't that bad at all. Whoever said that it's "way worse" than the original is putting the original on some type of pedestal or is a weird Korean weeabo fan thing. I watched it last night. Twist is there but it's different. Ending is different. I liked the American version ending better honestly.

I suppose it wasn't bad if you really didn't see the original, or really dislike what it was based on, or you love Samuel L Jackson.

I don't mind at all stating that the original trilogy deserves to be on a pedestal. Not a 'weeaaboo' pedestal even, but a straight up cinema/film pedestal. Park Chan-wook's original film (and trilogy) shit all over the remake. If you don't think so you don't think so. That's fine. I don't think dismissing appreciation for the original as a 'Korean weeaboo fan thing' is justified either.

the remake is really not THAT bad but i understand what it means to be a fanboy and sometimes you gotta fanboy that shit. since i dont really give a fuck about the original i was able to somewhat enjoy the remake. neither are a particularly good movie LOL.

Fair enough Tyven, I admit I am fanboying that shit. Funny thing about it is that I actually told a friend of mine that still hasn't seen the remake that "it really wasn't that bad, it just wasn't the same to me." Either way. Fine. I am a [drunk] fanboy that owns more Korean films than any other kind... so I am admittedly biased!

Is it too soon to start shit talking the Akira remake?

I finished it last night and I really really like it. The animation can indeed be stiff and the harem nonsense is annoying but the actual plot, action, and backstory is really really compelling. They do space realism really well, too. Also, extremely high sound quality.

Wife took the boy up to her sister's for the day. So I was able to sit and watch all of season one. I dig parts of it. It's worth watching imo.
